His Unveiled Passion novel Chapter 475

Tessa continued to sing the rest of the song.

"Later on, I finally learned how to love. But you had already gone far away, disappearing into the crowd."

"Later on, as the tears streamed down my face, I finally understood that some people will be gone forever the moment they walk out of your life—"

There was a small night light in the room, casting a warm, golden glow on Tessa's gentle features. Her eyes were crinkled as she gazed at Stephen. He could see the light reflected in her crystal clear eyes.

The last time she sang was when she had gotten drunk at the bar. She had stormed up the stage and snatched the microphone from the singer's hand. Her singing was more akin to wailing at the time. Every note that she belted out had been out of tune.

Surprisingly, the short part she had sung tonight had been perfectly in tune. It was music to Stephen's ears. He slowly fell asleep to the sound of Tessa's singing, his breathing evening out to a steady rhythm.

Stephen had fallen asleep by the time Tessa was done singing. The air conditioner had been set to a rather low temperature, so Tessa adjusted it back to a higher one, making sleep more comfortable for them. She then tucked the blanket securely around Stephen.

Tessa quietly studied Stephen's image under the warm glow of the night light for a moment before pressing a fleeting kiss to his cheek. "Good night, Stephen," she murmured.

The next morning, the sunlight filtered in through the curtains and cast its rays on the couple.

Afraid that he would disturb Tessa's sleep, Stephen hadn't set an alarm. He had a habit of waking up naturally whenever he had an important event coming up anyway.

He had just peeled his eyes open and was about to sneak out of bed when Tessa began to groan quietly next to him. A few moments later, she opened her eyes, which were still hazy from sleep.

"You're awake," Stephen said, his voice slightly hoarse, his warm breath fanning Tessa's ear.

Tessa hummed in response as she rubbed her eyes. Her voice was soft and still thick with sleep when she asked, "What time is it?"

Stephen glanced at his phone. "7:30 am. You can sleep for a little while more."

The video call connected. Daniel Raffles, the president of the partner company, smiled as he greeted Stephen. They were not only work partners but also old friends. Their relationship was casual and informal.

Stephen nodded in response before saying, "Please give me a moment, Daniel. I need to call my girlfriend to wake her up."

Daniel smiled brightly. "Okay, sure. I'll wait for you."

Stephen called Tessa at exactly 8:00 am. The company executives sat with ramrod straight backs as they listened to their president give his girlfriend a wake-up call.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the screen, Daniel poured himself a cup of water while he waited for the situation to unfold.

"Hello," Tessa said when she picked up Stephen's call, having no idea what was happening on his side.

"Tess, it's 8:00 am. It's time to wake up," Stephen murmured gently.
