His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 446

Rodrigo POV

I feel rage knowing that Sinclair was stabbed. Why didn’t she say anything to me? She has to know I care about her.

‘We are not mates.’ My wolf, Marti said.

‘She could be our chosen mate, Marti. I care a lot about her.’

‘We need to wait for our mate, Rodrigo.’

‘How long do we need to wait?’ I groaned.

‘As long as it takes. I won’t mark someone who isn’t our mate.’ He said.

I shut Marti down and then sat by Sinclair. I nudged her with my elbow. “You’re very quiet. Everything okay?”

Sinclair looked up, and there was an unnamed emotion on her face, but she quickly covered it. “I’m fine. I need to check the gate alarms. They should have worked, which suggests someone tampered with them. I’ll go check after I’m done eating.”

She is a mystery to me. She doesn’t react to attention. Most women would blush or get nervous. Not Sinclair, though. She stays even through everything. Thalia and Kaia are expressive.

‘That’s because of their mates. If Sinclair finds her mate, then she will likely respond the same way.’ Marti said, and honestly, it annoys me.

Kaia speaks up, “Sinclair is right, we need to check the alarms. I am going to let Izo out for a run with Isaiah. Afterward, let’s look at the system together, Sinclair.”

Isaiah speaks up, “You may want to look at that first. Storn is pent up, trouble.”

Kaia’s eyes widened as the table laughed. Even I had to chuckle at that one. Reid laughed the hardest, then spoke up, “Kaia, Sinclair, you both have to realize that your wolves are going to want to complete their bond too.”

Sinclair doesn’t even bat an eyelash while Kaia is turning redder. Adrian nudges Sinclair, “Does anything affect you?”

Sinclair looks calmly at Adrian, “Not when you have lived as I lived, Adrian. You are lucky and privileged.”

She stood up and looked at the table, “I’m going to check on the alarms. Kaia, meet me out there when you are ready. I’m heading to the northern gate.”

Kaia stood up, “Let’s go now. I think there is a competition here to see who can make me blush the hardest, girlie.”

She bent down, kissed Isaiah quickly, then ran over to Sinclair, and they locked arms. Finally, Sinclair smiled. I hear them both laughing as they leave. She has such peculiar behavior, and it’s intriguing to me. I wish we were mated.
