His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 424

Chapter 424

Isaiah POV

I see the look in Sinclair’s eyes and she also looks conflicted.

Kaia speaks up, “Girl, you need to go get the information from your foster family. Don’t worry about me. I am not going everywhere. Besides, the male nurse is cute.” She winked.

I growled low. I grabbed Kaia’s chin with my thumb and index finger and made her look at me. “You are MY mate, Kaia. I don’t share.”

She smirked. “Relax, I like to look. I’m more of a spectator.”

I narrowed my eyes, “Then keep your eyes on me, Ms. Trouble.”

“I have eyes, Isaiah. I will look, if I want.” She winked, and clearly, she is doing this to tease me. Alright, two can play that game.

“Okay. Look at other men. For each one you look at, I will spank you over my knee later. Just know, I keep count and you already have two spankings coming your way later.”

I hear her gasp slightly and I smirked, “Behave yourself, trouble.”

She narrowed her eyes, still not backing down. “I’ll take your words under advisement.”

I laughed, “You do that.” Then I turned to Sinclair, “I told you I would go, and I keep my word.”

“Yeah, but with Kaia in the hospital, shouldn’t you stay?” Sinclair said.

Kaia interrupts, “Hell no! I don’t want you going there by yourself.” Then she turned to me, “Please don’t let her go by herself.”

I smiled at her. “Asking for my help for someone else and never for yourself. We are going to talk about that when we get back, trouble.”

“Let’s go Sinclair.” I said, leaving no room for argument.

These girls are trying to give me and Storn a coronary at twenty-one years old. It’s never a dull moment with these two. Whoever Sinclair is mated too later will have to share the load.

On our way to her foster family house, I start asking questions to Sinclair. “Tell me what we are walking into, Sinclair.”

“What I’m walking into, you mean. I don’t want to drag you into this family drama. I’m going to try and make this a quick and final visit.” She replied.

I scoffed, “I hate to break it to you, Sinclair, but nothing about you or Kaia is a simple visit or situation. Tell me about your foster family. I want personalities, names, the whole nine yards.” I said.

She sighed, “Fine. Candy is my foster sister. She is the annoying princess type and has a mean streak. When we were in high school together, she used to bully me and get her friends to bully me. There were several times that the little food I had or could afford to buy would be taken and I would starve or pass out from not eating. There was a cafeteria lady that used to hook me up though. Only when Ms. Towns wasn’t there was it a hard day.”

I growled. “She bullied you with her friends a let you starve?”

She sighed, “Yeah. Then there is Chad. He’s an asshat. He thinks he is better than me and looks at me like a

servant. He was always ordering me around and pushing me to the ground. There were times he would grab my clothes and throw them in muddy piles. I only had four outfits, so I would have to wash them by hand, and it would take hours. By the time they were clean and dried, the entire night would have passed, and I didn’t get any sleep. Only to go to school exhausted and without any completed homework.”

What the fuck was the foster dad doing? “Did your foster dad do anything? I mean, where the fuck was he when all this was happening?”

She shrugged his shoulders. “He didn’t care. He just wanted to collect the checks. I didn’t even have a room. I slept on the couch. You know this already though.”

“How long did you live there?” I asked.

“Five years. Before that, I had been in three other foster homes. The first couple was the nicest. They even talked about adopting me. But then my foster mom got pregnant and said she couldn’t handle being a foster mom anymore. So, I was returned. The second time, my foster parents left me outside for three days in the winter as punishment for accidentally breaking a vase. Apparently, it had been in the family for years. I didn’t break it, though. Another kid did, but everyone blamed me. Anyway, by day three, the agency came by and picked me up. I caught pneumonia and was in the hospital for a while. When I got out, I was not welcomed back to foster family number two. So, the agency placed me with another family. Anything they deemed wrong or bad was a capital offense. I was beaten almost daily. There wasn’t a spot on my body that wasn’t bruised up. When the agency got wind of the beatings, they removed all the kids from that household, and the foster parents were arrested.” She said, recalling all the trauma.

I feel terrible for her. I’m realizing that Thalia, Sinclair and my mate all have extremely tough backgrounds. I don’t even know all of Kaia’s yet. I’m going to speak with her when we get back, but right now, I feel terrible thinking about a small Sinclair enduring all kinds of abuse.

“So, when I got to this last place, it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t the worst either. I was grateful to have a roof over my head, and I wasn’t really getting beat up on. Was I treated shitty, yeah. But I wasn’t abused as harshly as the previous places. By the time I was eighteen, I wanted to leave and be on my own.”

When we arrived, I parked in front of the house. Sinclair turns to me. I will mind link you if things go south. I will try and make this quick so we can get back to Kaia.” She said.
