She wrenched her hand from Jonathan's and scrambled to her feet. "I'm tired. I'm going to bed." The sight of her hasty retreat was reflected in Jonathan's captivating eyes, a lovely silhouette against the room.
Hayes and Carlotta were staying with Jonathan for the time being. When Marlin woke up to find two new people in the house, he immediately launched into a babbling protest, even crying several times, which left Hayes and Carlotta completely flustered. They hadn't raised Niamh when she was a child, and they certainly didn't know how to handle Marlin now.
Niamh realized that out of all of them, Jonathan was surprisingly the best with children. Moreover, whether it was due to some sensitive intuition or just his nature, Niamh could tell that Marlin wasn't particularly fond of his grandparents. But he adored Jonathan.
"You've been here with me this whole time. Is everything okay at the office?" Niamh had been wanting to ask this for a while. "It's fine." Jonathan shook his head. "The company can manage without me, but you..." ...can't be without me. He left the second half of the sentence unsaid, afraid Niamh would think him conceited. But Niamh understood what he meant. The truth was, if she wanted to take down Ramona, she couldn't do it alone.
"About the will, where do you plan to start?" Hearing Jonathan mention the will, Hayes asked Niamh curiously, "The will? You mean the one your grandfather wrote?" "Yes." Niamh nodded and explained her theory to Hayes. "Ramona would dare to tamper with the will?" Carlotta asked, astonished. "It's just a guess... but it's the only thing that explains her guilty conscience and strange behavior."
