Eleanor's three words jolted Olivia and instantly cleared her mind.
Not Eleanor? So, who had been the one to make all the changes to her room?
Olivia's mind raced, and Skylar didn't even cross her thoughts. As someone who'd once been haunted by a shadow spirit, her first instinct was that something paranormal was wrong.
She scanned the room, and though nothing looked out of place, there was a chilling danger she couldn't quite shake.
Trembling slightly, she cautiously reached for the pouch hanging from the neck, holding Shannon's protective talisman. Though it was a gift from Shannon, as she clutched it tightly, she instinctively called out, "Skylar…"
Where was he?
Her voice was so full of unspoken fear and longing that she failed to notice the paper figure lying at the head of the bed. With its sensation severed, Olivia's whisper could no longer reach its master.
…
After one night of chaos, Olivia got up expressionlessly when Eleanor knocked on the door the next morning as scheduled.
Later, she convinced herself she'd just imagined things. But even so, she clutched her phone tightly as she fell back asleep, and the screen stayed open to Skylar's chat.
She'd removed him from her blacklist yet never sent him a message.
Back on set, Olivia debated whether to reach out to Skylar and ask if he could help check her room for evil presences. But her pride wouldn't let her make the first move.
Oblivious to her, Skylar had checked out the hotel just as she was throwing herself back into work. He'd booked a ticket for the next available train and was on his way to the station.
Staring at the scenery blurring past the car window, he found himself pulling up Olivia's chat again. His number might have been blocked, but the past messages were still there.
As he scrolled through them, he saw all the messages from her, sharing what she ate, asking about his day, showing off her new makeup look, and gossiping about new cast members.
