Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 176

Over the phone, Shannon listened to what Fred had to say for a while before switching to the video call function on her phone. Without hesitation, Fred accepted the video call.

On the previous day, he looked sharp and well-dressed. Now, he looked visibly haggard.

Through the video, Shannon could see the dark circles under his eyes and the faint negative energy surrounding him.

She said, "You do have some residual negative energy on you, but it seems the spirit was just playing a prank on you. It's gone now."

Shannon's calm words left Fred wide-eyed. His voice rose one pitch higher in astonishment as he exclaimed incredulously, "A-A prank?"

He had almost died! What kind of prank was that? He had thought he was about to ascend to the heavens right there!

"Mm-hm." Shannon didn't react to his shock and remained composed. "When I gave you the talisman, I didn't see any sign of impending death on your face."

This meant that even though he had encountered a ghost, it hadn't intended to kill him. In the realm of malicious spirits, if an entity didn't plan to kill someone right away, it was considered a prank.

Given the residual negative energy on Fred, it seemed he had encountered a fierce ghost. The talisman had injured the ghost, so it wouldn't return for now. Therefore, Shannon didn't feel particularly concerned.

Fred was on the verge of tears when he heard this. Didn't this mean that as long as he didn't die, they could still do whatever they wanted?

Despite Shannon's assurance that the ghost had left, Fred still felt unsettled. He insisted on buying more talismans from her.

Shannon felt it wasn't necessary, but she didn't refuse the business when it came knocking on her door. "Protective talismans are 3,000 dollars each, and shielding talismans are 6,000 dollars each—"

Shannon noticed his trembling voice and looked down. She saw the infant spirit had climbed onto her shoulder and was curiously staring at the phone screen with its beady eyes.

Given Fred's low luck level and recent encounter with a ghost, it was normal for him to see spirits now.

She explained, "This is an infant spirit currently in my care. Don't worry about it."

Fred's eyes widened again, and after a moment, he abruptly ended the video call. Shannon didn't mind that their call was cut off just like that.

Shortly after, she received an address from Fred. She went to her desk, opened a wooden box containing her pre-drawn talismans, and counted 20. She then sent them to him via express delivery.

Her stock had cleared out. Shannon looked at the sky outside and decided that she should draw a few more talismans while Benjamin was away.
