Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 112

Hank had never felt this frustrated in his life. Beside him, Scott got the silencing talisman he wanted after transferring the money. He put two and two together when he saw the look on Hank's face and recalled Hank's bet with Shannon.

"Hank, you ran out of water halfway through your shower and couldn't get anyone to hear your calls for help, right? That's why you came out—"

Hank clamped a hand over Scott's mouth, effectively cutting him off. "Shut up!"

Shannon looked at Hank matter-of-factly and repeated, "We had a bet. I won."

Hank looked dejected. He hated to admit it, but he'd lost. Shannon didn't waste any more time on him. She stood up and said, "Don't let me hear you say a word for the next week."

She paused and added, "I'm sure a son of the Jensen family won't have any problem keeping such a simple promise."

Well, it didn't matter even if he couldn't stick to his word. She would make him stick to it.

Hank's expression darkened at her words, but he still answered grumpily, "Don't you worry about that. I'm a man of my word."

Shannon nodded, looking satisfied. She left Scott's room. As she walked out, Scott and Hank heard her muttering, "I should've asked for a month."

Hank was rendered speechless, while Scott couldn't help snickering. Hank glared at him. "What's wrong with you nowadays, Scott? Why do you keep helping an outsider?"

Scott held his head high. "Who says she's an outsider? She's my cousin and yours too! If you say something like this again, I'll tell on you to Uncle Adam!"

Upstairs, Shannon returned to her room to see the infant spirit zooming around the room. Now that it had gotten rid of its grudge, it looked like a healthy, plump mandrake root. As it floated around, its "legs" kicked in the air. It looked adorable.

It zoomed toward the window several times while kicking its legs but bounced back after running into Shannon's barrier. Even though it no longer held a grudge, it still wanted to search for its mother.

Marshmallow seemed to find this interesting. It wagged its bushy tail around and chased after the infant spirit, even trying to catch it with its mouth when it saw the infant spirit bouncing back.

Frightened, the infant spirit shot toward the ceiling. When it saw that Shannon was back, it zipped toward her and rested on her shoulder while panting, seemingly exhausted.
