Because of this, Alex felt that Hank lacked composure. He made a big fuss over such a small matter.
Linda spoke up too. "Yes, go inside and wash up properly. Put on some fresh clothes after that. You don't want to catch a cold."
Even though it was summer, standing in the open with dripping wet hair could still lead to a chill.
Hank still felt uneasy, remembering how no one responded when he called out from inside. He didn't dare to go back in alone.
"I-I'll go wash up in Scott's bathroom," Hank said.
Before Scott could say anything, Hank stepped into his bathroom. Scott couldn't stop him in time and could only stomp his foot in frustration.
Alex shook his head and headed back into his own room with Linda.
Meanwhile, Hank was still anxious about what had happened. He quickly finished his shower and changed before leaving Scott's room. When he came out, he saw two people sitting in Scott's room. One was Scott, and the other was Shannon.
Hank was startled at first. Then, he glared at Shannon as he realized what had happened.
"Was it you who did that just now?" he questioned angrily.
He was positive that the water outage had something to do with her. Otherwise, why would Thomas find everything working fine when the water supply had indeed run out for him earlier? The fact that no one heard him calling out earlier wasn't likely to be a coincidence as well.
Recalling their bet, he immediately assumed Shannon was behind it but couldn't fathom what method she used.
Scott sat leisurely nearby. He was curious about what had happened. Hank was fuming, but Shannon remained calm and cool, not denying that it was her doing.
She casually pulled out a talisman and said, "This is a silencing talisman. Once it's placed on a door, no matter how loud it is inside, no sound can be heard outside. You've already experienced it."
She had modified the talisman based on a barrier talisman to only block out sound while everything else remained normal.
Suddenly, a thought struck him, and he looked at Shannon with a grim expression.
"Wait. You used a talisman to soundproof my room. Fine. But what about the water supply?"
He imagined that Shannon might have sent a ghost or a spirit to turn off his water mid-shower. The thought of an entity watching him bathe made his skin crawl, and he looked at Shannon as if she were a monster.
Shannon looked back at him and gave an unexpected explanation. "With the water control system, one can monitor the water usage in each room in real-time."
Hank remained skeptical that there weren't ghosts involved.
Shannon sighed and elaborated, "I monitored your water usage and turned off the valve for your room's water supply at the right moment. That's all."
Hank scowled at her nonchalant "That's all". He cursed at her inwardly for all that he had suffered.
