"This…" Shannon composed herself, her face returning to normal as she met Benjamin's gaze. She put on an unfazed expression and explained, "This is a protective mark. It's for safety."

She spoke without blushing or stammering. Of course, she had no intention to reveal anything about him being the fiance Thalia picked for her.

Benjamin looked at her, and his eyes flickered under the indoor lights.
