Gorgeous Couple’s Sweet Love novel Chapter 65

Zack really blew my socks off.

He did not have any selfishness, no complaints, and he even loved me, protected me, and warmed my heart in his own way.

The luckiest thing I've ever had in my life was meeting Zack.

I was moved and grateful to him, but I knew that I didn't have that love for him. Zack's existence was more like a brother than a lover to me.

I asked Zack, "Why didn't they kill me but saved me?" I was puzzled about this from beginning to end.

Zack hesitated for a while and said, "Maybe someone is guilty."

His words made me sure that he knew some other things, things that he couldn't tell me for the time being.

Zack was silent for a while and then said, "If you think of any questions in the future, you can ask me directly. I won't hold back anything anymore."

"Well, thank you." Zack held his forehead with his hand, and I suddenly saw him wearing the

watch I gave him on his wrist.

He cherished the gift I gave him.

"Em, there's no need for us to thank each other."

Zack's words reminded me. I suddenly asked, "Why did we break up?"

Why was I willing to leave such a good man like him in the past?

"Hmm?" Zack's reaction was too slow. He slightly bit his lips and said after thinking for a long time, "Love is not just about two people. I think it was fate that didn't want us together anymore. Em, at that time, you... you were still young, and you still didn't understand how to give others enough trust. You preferred to let your own imagination run wild, and then you had little self-control."

"Do you mean that I misunderstood you?" I thought for a moment and said, "And with that, I chose to be with Benjamin?"

"You're always so smart." Zack blinked his eyes and changed the subject. "Riley asked me to transfer you back to the crime squad. I've been thinking about it. What's your opinion?"

I asked, "When will Bob be transferred back there?"

Zack was stunned for a while and said in a cold tone, "For some reason, I haven't considered letting him return there for the time being."

I knew the reason.

Bob stole a peek at his secret.

I said, "I have just returned to the police station for a month. If I get transferred back to a major department so quick, people will talk. I will follow Bob to work for the Internal Department first."

Zack thought for a moment. "You're right. You're very thoughtful. After all, at least you'll be safe to stay there with Bob."

"Well, Zack... Can I ask for a leave?"

"Sure." He did not ask for the reason and directly approved it, and then said, "I know that you haven't been assigned with your own gun, you can take mine."

Zack took out a pistol from the drawer and put it on the table. I shook my head and said, "I don't need it. You might need it later."

He said, "Take it."

I didn't dare to take it in the end. He was the leader of the crime squad and he could use the gun anytime, unlike me.

There shouldn't be any danger for me right now.

I took a taxi to the hospital at the gate of the police station. Because I was in a police uniform, the nurse was very friendly, she said that she would take me up in person. I shook my head and asked her to tell me the ward number directly.

"Go upstairs and take a right turn and you'll see Room 413."

As soon as I turned right on the fourth floor, I saw September sitting on a bench in the corridor and looking up tiredly. I sat beside her and asked, "Your dad's still angry?"

September put her head on my shoulder and said lightly, "Yeah, he's still planning on getting me out of the family. He's still gonna have a daughter left anyway. Plus, he's gonna get a new son-in-law next month."

September didn't feel a sense of joy after taking back the whole Jenkins family in her hands and I was not happy by the fact Charlotte got what she deserved.

It was obvious that we were the winners, but we felt like we had lost.

I comforted September and said, "Your dad is just over his head for now. But if you let Rose see you like this, can you imagine that smug on her face? She might have lost the shares and the money, but she's got Joel now."

My words seemed to have reminded

September.

September suddenly said in high spirits, "Emma, let's go and get rid of the child in my belly. I don't want to keep it alive now."

I was stunned. She looked very decisive! Did Joel do anything to hurt September these days?

I dare not ask and shouldn't ask.

September did a B-scan before she aborted the child and saw nothing on the image, which made her even more determined.

The abortion operating room was on the fourth floor, which was only a corner away from September's father's ward, but that enough to conceal what she was gonna do from her mother and enough for the child to quietly disappear.

When September was waiting in line, I received a call from Benjamin. I turned my head and looked at September, who was silent with her belly covered by her hands. Then I got up and went to another corner to answer the phone, asking, "What's up?"

Benjamin asked in a low voice, "Are we going to have dinner together?"

It was about noon. I explained, "September is about to abort the child in the hospital. I want to stay here with her."

Benjamin asked, "Well? Whose child is that?"

I said lightly, "I don't know, but September and Sean have slept."

Benjamin asked coldly, "Does Sean know about this?"

I said, "I don't think he knows."

After the last time, Rose's attitude had improved significantly.

Joel was silent. Rose explained with a pale face, "Joel saw them come here just now, so he followed them."

It was estimated that Joel and Rose happened to see Sean when they came to visit Rose's dad. When he saw him running in a hurry, he was curious and followed him.

"There's none of your business here, leave me alone!" September indifferently waved her hand and said sarcastically, "Don't stand here and make a fool of yourself!"

Joel looked at September closely and asked in a cold tone, "Is the child still alive? Whose child is it?"

September smiled and said, "It's yours. Well, I think by now I should say it WAS yours!"

"You!" Joel looked like he choked on something, but the sadness in his eyes became more and more obvious. September walked around and left.

At the hospital's entrance, September said to Sean beside her, "Sean, thank you for saying what you said just now."

Sean admitted that the child belonged to him at the first time.

Even though it had nothing to do with him.

Sean sent September home, and I was relieved in the car of Benjamin. September was in the operating room for less than five minutes, which meant the child is still alive.

Just as I was thinking about September, the man next to me suddenly asked, "That dude... Joel, right? What is his relationship with you?" His tone was unusually cold.

Benjamin once checked me, but he could only find Julienne. Because 01' Shears was kicked out of the Shears family long ago.

So he wouldn't know that Joel and I were siblings at all.

I said perfunctorily, "Not much. He's September's ex."

Benjamin said coldly, "His attitude didn't seem 'not much' to me," he said.

All of a sudden, I looked at him surprisingly and asked, "Are you jealous?"

"Well, what do you think?" Benjamin looked ahead. He paused for a moment and then asked, "Do you think I'd be jealous?"

So he really was jealous.

I explained with a smile, "Joel and September knew each other from a young age. Because of their relationship, I got to know Joel. He has always regarded me as his sister. After all, you don't see a lot of people named Shears."

Only then did his face look a little better.

Benjamin was silent and kept driving the car back to Elysia. I asked curiously, "Do you want to go home for lunch?"

"Let's go home and eat you!" He turned his head and said viciously.

"What are you angry about now?"
