Gorgeous Couple’s Sweet Love novel Chapter 13

He shook his head and pointed to a room next door and said, "Go in and take a bath, and be careful not to touch your wounds."

I lowered my head and looked at myself. I was kicked by Steve on the ground this morning. My body was indeed very dirty.

I got up and went in, and Benjamin said again: "Turn on the heating, don't get cold."

His indifferent tone didn't match his concerning words at all.

"Alright."

I didn't have any clothes to change into, so I put on a white bathrobe and went out, while Benjamin was reading carefully with his head slightly down.

When he was alone, he was always quiet.

Benjamin had took off his bathrobe, his thick black hair was slightly wet on his head, his sleeves were rolled up at will, revealing his firm forearms.

Hearing the movement, he tilted his head to look at me.

"Come here.' He commanded me, I stopped for a second and still sat beside him.

Benjamin closed the book and said: "Emma, every time I see you, you seem to be in an awkward situation. What have you done with yourself?"

What have I done indeed?

But the way I saw it, he was my lucky star, being there whenever I got into trouble.

The first time I was framed by Charlotte, the first person I met when I went out of the bar was him, and he was also the one who I slept with.

When we met for the second time, Steve beat me half to death, and he caught me the moment I was unconscious.

When we met for the third time, Charlotte and Steve shattered my self-esteem completely.

The fourth time we met, I was forced to abort a child but he came mysteriously. I still didn't know why he knew that I had an accident.

On the fifth time, he bailed me out from the police station.

Looking back, none of them seemed like a good memory.

I came back to my senses and said, "I was blind to be with Steve."

He agreed with me, "Indeed."

For a while, there was only silence between us.

I hesitated for a long time and said, "He took pictures of me."

Benjamin paused, tapping his fingertips lightly on the cover of the book he had just read. It was a Spanish magazine.

"I know." Benjamin's eyebrows perked up, like an iceberg poking out of the ocean's surface, revealing mysterious danger.

Benjamin was a very indifferent man, but sometimes he was very lively. It sounded very contradictory but it was just the way he was.

My university's major was criminal investigation psychology which gave me a unique perspective when it came to people's expressions and way of speaking.

But when I studied him carefully, I was at a loss.

He knew how to conceal himself very well, which gave people a mysterious feeling, and even inadvertently charm people.

I couldn't see him through at all.

I said worryingly, "I'm afraid he will threaten me with this tomorrow."

I lowered my head slightly, feeling embarrassed in my heart.

This was a shame, but I could only ask him for help.

Hearing this, Benjamin raised his eyebrows and looked at me with extreme indifference deep in his eyes. He said, "He wouldn't dare."

The tone was unusually firm.

I was dumbfounded, "Huh?"

"Do you think I will let him keep them to threaten you?" Benjamin smiled: "Emma, you are my woman. I am responsible for whatever it is as long as it concerns you. So you don't have to worry."

I wondered: "What did you do?"

In fact, these words Benjamin said moved me very much. My heart couldn't help but pound in my chest like a wild beast, but I knew I had to restrain myself.

Why did Benjamin hold on to this part of my words?

I shook my head, but fortunately, he didn't ask anymore.

It was only a long time later that I learned that Benjamin had lied that day. He had seen those photos and he had not thrown them into the sea.

But in the end, I didn't know where they went.

Although Benjamin asked me to be his woman, he did not intend to sleep with me. Instead, he left the room next to his bedroom to me and said, "Get some sleep. We'll go to the City Hall tomorrow."

He couldn't wait for me to get a divorce.

With a nod, I walked to the door and couldn't help but look back at the unusually stalwart man standing at the center of the living room.

The beautiful chandelier glowed with lavender light, and it fell on him with a refined temperament, like a spring breeze.

He put his hands in his pockets and raised his eyebrows to look at me. I suddenly asked, "Benjamin, how tall are you?"

Why did he look so tall?

"Six point five feet. One foot taller than you." Benjamin was suddenly very delighted, and asked patiently, "What else do you want to know?"

I was indeed 5.5 feet tall.

"How do you..." I shook my head and said, "Never mind, good night."

I originally wanted to ask how he knew my height, but then I felt that it was meaningless to ask.

At most it would make me feel upset.

I took off my bathrobe and applied the ointment for myself, looking at the injuries of all shapes and colors on my body, I suddenly had a sense of loss.

I really hoped the future would be at least a little better.

After sleeping for an hour, the ringing of my phone woke me up.

I took the phone and looked at the number in a daze, and felt a headache. Then I picked it up and asked, "Granny, hi. What's up?"
