Ten minutes later, the police let us out. When I saw Benjamin standing up at the door, tears surged up to fill my eyes.
He was still in the suit from the morning, with some snowflakes on his thick black hair and some on his shoulders. He looked straight at me with his clear and deep eyes.
At this moment, they were unusually charming.
He kept gazing at me for a while before he blurted out, "Moron."
Sarcastic as always.
I graciously smiled but did not refute him.
What he said this morning seemed to have really worked but it was still a bit too late. I did exactly the opposite of what he told me and got myself in trouble again.
Jeanie had been in a daze since Benjamin appeared. When Benjamin drove us back to the neighborhood, she asked: "Emma, when did your choice of friends improve?"
"Long before you knew." After saying this, I saw Benjamin's hand subconsciously touching the ring on his ring finger.
"Well, this is me." After Jeanie left, Benjamin drove silently towards downtown, silent for a long while.
I thought for a while and said, "Thank you for bailing us."
"And you know why I bailed you?"
There was no expression on his face. He said softly: "Emma, you have promised to be my woman."
Well, he knew my answer already.
I nodded and said, "Benjamin, we are mutually beneficial."
Benjamin's sight fell on the front, and he drove the car intently and asked me casually, "When will you divorce?"
I explained: "Steve said that we will go to the City Hall, but the property has not been dealt with clearly. I think the chance of divorce tomorrow is not high."
In fact, I was very worried about the settling of property. It was like a piece of itchy skin on the sole of your foot. You could neither scratch it nor ignore it.
Steve would give the house back to me, and I refused to give in. In fact, it was illegal for Steve to take pictures of me naked. I could let him go out of the house by virtue of this, but I couldn't do that.
What would the house mean if I traded my reputation for it?
I would be nothing but a joke in the neighborhood.
"Emma, get divorced first." I looked at Benjamin's side face in a puzzled way. He turned his head and glanced at me lightly, and explained: "I will help you get back the property, but not now. Now I need you to get divorced ASAP."
I asked: "Why?"
"Do you want me to be with a married woman all the time?" Benjamin said sarcastically, and then scolded: "Moron."
I glared at him but remained silent.
Benjamin took me to the city center. When I got out of the car, I realized that he had changed another car-a black Bentley.
I didn't understand, "Why"
Why would I be disappointed if he was not rich? It was not my money anyway.
"Tell you a secret. I ran away from home. Everything I use now belongs to my friends."
The corner of his lips twitched and he smiled softly. I was shocked and heard him say: "Did you really buy it?"
I didn't believe him, I was just fascinated by his smile, and I shook my head quickly to take my eyes off him.
Twenty minutes passed when Benjamin came out of the bedroom, he changed into a white bathrobe, his black hair was slightly wet, and he stepped barefoot on the black marble floor.
I looked up at him, and he also turned his head slightly to look at me. His eyes were deep, with a trace of emotion I couldn't understand.
It's like when we for the first time, the moment in bed.
The waves in his eyes were turbulent as if a trace of hostility was circulating in the abyss, with disgust! That's it! It was not obvious but I noticed it!
Seeing him like this, I was a little confused, and asked anxiously: "What's the matter?"
Benjamin heard my voice and closed his eyes subconsciously.
When he opened them again, all that was left was serenity and purity.
