Getting into her car, she gripped the steering wheel and took several deep breaths. Only when her panic subsided a little did she finally start the engine.

Even though she had just fought with Robert yesterday, he had actually hit Amara and called her about it. If she just ignored the situation, who knew how much worse things would get.

Robert watched from the side, frowning slightly in discomfort.

“Babe, why are you so interested in gold?”

He was too embarrassed to say that gold was incredibly tacky and completely beneath Chloe’s class.

After all, in his eyes, Chloe came from a good family and was a top student fresh back from studying abroad. There was no way should like something as vulgar as gold.

Hearing this, Chloe toned down her excited expression a bit.

“Honey, it’s not the gold I like. It’s the vision of our beautiful future together. Don’t you think buying gold is tied to marriage, making it super romantic?”

Robert’s furrowed brows gradually relaxed, and he pulled Chloe in for a hard kiss.

“Babe, I didn’t know you loved me this much.”

Chloe leaned into his embrace.

“Obviously. You’re the person I love most in the world.”

The two of them acted lovey-dovey for a bit before Chloe said she wanted to seriously pick out her jewelry set, which Robert readily agreed to.

“You go look first. I’m going to the restroom for a smoke, and I’ll find you in a bit.”
