"Bert, I promise every word is the truth. I'm not exaggerating. If you don't believe me, come to the villa right now. Call Amara and her daughter. Just listen to what the girl calls Hudson and you'll understand."
Emily made the decision on the spot.
"Good! I want to see for myself if Amara Hoyt really thinks she's the queen of the castle!"
She'd pitied Amara before and even told Rosa to look after her.
But Amara had turned around and brainwashed her son into a total fool.
It was a blatant betrayal of their kindness.
Bert didn't object. He'd been done with Amara for a long time.
She was slippery and never told the truth.
A woman like that was a curse. If they let this continue, Hudson might actually try to marry a widow with a child.
Bert couldn't afford that kind of embarrassment!
The three of them headed to Grandview Estate.
Jade sat in her own car, following Bert and Emily's lead.
She watched the scenery blur past the window, her mind racing with cold calculation.
Bringing them here wasn't just to expose Hudson's behavior.
The real goal was to put enough pressure on Amara to make her desperate.
A desperate Amara would run straight to Lyndon Spenser.
Then, she could finally find the evidence that they were the ones who killed Ronald Faith.
Grandview Estate.
Jade's car arrived first. As she stepped into the living room, a heavy, stinging scent of tobacco hit her.
"Jade."
The moment the word was out of his mouth, Hudson pulled her into a tight, smoke-scented embrace.
Jade shoved him away with pure disgust.
Hudson stumbled back, nearly tripping. He stared at her with bloodshot, disbelieving eyes.
"You're pushing me away?"
Jade retreated, making her rejection unmistakable.
Hudson was about to say more when Bert and Emily walked through the door.
He assumed they were there to attack Jade for the abortion.
He stepped forward immediately, shielding Jade behind him.
"Dad, Mom, the baby... that was my fault. It had nothing to do with Jade. Take it out on me, but leave her out of it."
Jade looked at the broad back in front of her. Her emotions were a tangled mess.
In the past, he'd stood by and watched while Bert and Emily tore into her.
