“Watch her closely. If anything happens to Ms. Hoyt, I’ll hold you personally responsible.”

The two bodyguards bowed their heads in synchronization.

“Chloe is a woman of integrity. she couldn’t stand seeing that mistress enjoy your marital assets, so she suggested we reclaim what’s yours. How were we supposed to know it would backfire?” Cindy said, tilting her chin with pride for her choice of daughter-in-law.

Jade felt a cold prickle of suspicion along her spine.

“If they saw her days ago, why did you wait until yesterday to make your move?”
