Hudson’s pupils contracted as he bolted from his chair.

“Control the situation! I’m on my way!”

He hung up and ordered Kevin to drive to the Riverside District immediately.

An hour later, they arrived at the neighborhood.

A crowd had surrounded Amara’s gate, hurling disgusting insults at the house.

“Homewrecker! Shameless fox!”

“You’re going straight to hell for destroying a family!”

“You had the guts to sleep with him, now show your face!”

Hudson’s jaw set in a hard line of fury, but then a sharp, panicked scream pierced the air.

She turned her body, looking down at the pavement below.

“I should have died with Ronald. At least he believed in me without question.”

Hudson’s heart jumped to his throat at her movement.

“I believe you, Amara! I’ve always believed in you!”

A hidden glint of triumph flickered in her eyes as she scooted slightly inward.

“Then tell me isn’t it a coincidence that this happened right after Jade’s family attacked me? You still think she didn’t do it?”

Hudson’s brow furrowed in a deep, agonizing scowl.

“Amara, I need time to investigate the source-”

As she exited the car, she was surprised to see Michael waiting for her.
