From Ashes of Scandals to His Embrace novel Chapter 520

Tilda might talk big, but deep down she was a bit of a coward. When she heard what Thurston said, her tears stopped on the spot.

"So, you're saying... that girl... I thought she was just some orphan, kicked out by her wealthy family? How could she possibly have so much influence?"

"Orphan? She's Adolphus's fiancée. Your son got beaten up like that, and you still think she has no connections? Honestly, I don't know how you can be so clueless."

Thurston’s patience was wearing dangerously thin. Peter’s reckless plan already gave him a splitting headache. Now, with Adolphus knowing about his drug use, they really had no choice but to leave, and quickly.

Foley saw how rattled Thurston was and figured there was nothing more for them to do. He nodded to Nine, and together they headed out of the hospital.

"Are all the cars Adolphus asked for ready?"

"They're ready. Twelve cars are parked right outside Azure Heights. They can drive everyone home whenever you say the word."

"Good. Let’s get going, too. I’m starving."

Foley and Nine left, completely unaware that Theodora had been hiding nearby, hanging on to Thurston’s every word.

Theodora's eyes sparkled. Now that she knew who Adolphus really was, she made a silent promise to herself. She was definitely going to Cabinda to find him.

By nine thirty, the graduation party was winding down. Everyone hugged each other, wishing for bright futures, cheering each other on to get into the schools they wanted. They kept saying how sad it was that Laurinda hadn’t taken the exams with them.

Laurinda didn’t share her own plans, just smiled and told everyone not to worry about her. She’d figure things out and promised to keep in touch.

Their teacher checked his watch, then stood up with his glass raised. "No matter what results you get, I hope every single one of you finds your own path and a place to belong. I wish you all happiness."

That marked the end of the party.
