Seraphina suddenly felt a little awkward. She’d tried to get into gaming before, hoping to fit in with younger people. In the process, she’d met some seriously skilled kids. To keep them playing with her, she’d spent money just for the company.
As work got busier, there wasn’t much time to play. Her gaming partner needed some extra cash, so she started paying them to rank up her account instead.
Laurinda noticed Seraphina’s uneasy look and laughed softly. “Playing with paid companions or getting someone to carry your account isn’t that weird. Those kids really are amazing. If you’re interested, Seraphina, I can ask Yates to get us tickets for the game. We could all go together. The Cabinda matches are on the 26th, 27th, and 28th.”
“I want to come too.” Irvin jumped in immediately. He wasn’t much of a gamer, but like most guys, he loved the thrill of competitive games, even just watching.
“No problem. I’ll tell Yates to get a few more tickets.”
Laurinda picked up her phone and quickly messaged Yates. In no time, he replied with an OK sign, so the tickets were settled.
After seeing the reply, Laurinda looked up at Teddy. “I’ll be busy with the lab soon, so I’ll have Yates send the tickets to your school. Does that work for you?”
Teddy nodded right away. “That’s no problem. My grandpa told me I just need to drop you off at Ladd’s lab. I don’t have to stay with you the whole time, so I’ll still go to my regular classes.”
Laurinda wasn’t surprised by how Fraser had arranged things. Her time in the lab was for the institute’s assessment, but once classes started, school would come first.
