Forced Marriage To The Secret Billionaire novel Chapter 40

AUTHOR'S POV

“ Silas. ” Sara got up from the couch and walked toward him but he didn't stop.

Silas didn't even spare her a glance and moved past her to go to his room.

He was hurt.

He was not hurt because Grandmother Eloise had humiliated him in front of everyone.

He was not hurt because she had hurt his ego.

He was hurt because there was nothing in Sara's eyes when he turned around to look at her.

The most painful moment in your life comes when you realize that no matter how much you love someone, no matter what you do for them, no matter what you endure for him, no matter if you even sacrifice your life for them...

They are never going to love you back.

Silas had realized this today. No matter what he did for her, she was never going to love him back.

It was not her fault though. It was no one's fault except his own.

Just as he stepped inside his room, he closed the door and went to his bed. Before he could sit down, his phone started ringing.

He took out his phone and saw the caller Id. It was his Grandfather this time.

Sara had called him for one hundred and fourteen times but he had ignored all her calls. He didn't want to talk to her.

Picking up the call, Silas moved toward the walk-in-closet in his room.

“ HOW DARE THEY HUMILIATE MY GRANDSON?! ” Grandfather Albert screamed and Silas flinched pushing the phone away from his ear.

Grandfather Albert was so dramatic, he thought.

“ Calm down, Old Man or you are going to get a heartattack. ” Silas stated in a calm tone and moved toward the wardrobe before taking out his night clothes from it.

“ I AM GOING TO DESTROY THE LEXINGTONS! THE SAME HOUSE WILL FALL OVER THEIR HEADS WHERE THEY DARED TO HUMILIATE YOU. ” He fumed causing Silas to sigh.

Grandfather Albert must have got to know about all of this from one of his spies in the house and now he was angry. No one had ever hurted Silas from the time Grandfather Albert brought him back and now, Grandmother Eloise had downright slapped him in front of everyone and hurted his ego. Grandfather Albert was having a hard time tolerating all of this.

“ Calm Down, Grandfather. ” He sighed out and began unbuttoning his shirt with his left hand while he stood in front of the mirror holding his phone in his right hand.

“ CALM DOWN?! HOW CAN I CALM DOWN? ” He screeched again as Silas paused.

“ You will not do anything to Lexingtons, Grandfather or I won't talk to you again. ” Silas threatened Grandfather Albert, knowing his weakness very well. Grandfather Albert couldn't live without Silas.

“ Why? ” Grandfather Albert's tone had visibly lowered down after his efficient threat.

He flinched. Did she hear everything?

He stepped forth and Sara turned around. Her expressions were normal. She might have not heard anything. He sighed in relief thinking all of this while Sara stared at him without blinking her eyes.

Sara's heart was beating fast in her chest. She tried her best to keep her expressions neutral and she definitely succeeded.

She had come in his room to talk to him when she found he was not here. She moved toward his walk-in-closet and slid it slightly open when she heard him talking to someone on the phone.

' I will return home in some time Grandfather. With or without Sara. ' She had clearly heard him saying this to someone.

Grandfather? Home? This had shocked Sara. She knew he was an orphan and he was raised in an orphanage then who was this Grandfather this time and where was this home?

What was Silas hiding from her?

Was he really who she thought he was or was he someone else?

Sara was determined to find out now. She stepped forward and let the doubt show on her face.

In this moment, Silas realized she heard something.

Maybe, Everything.

“ Who is this Grandfather and where is this home, Silas? ”
