Grace bit her lower lip, tears welling up again. "Why? Why does he get to live so well after my mom suffered so much?"

"Who said he's living well?"

A cruel smile played on Damien's lips. "Lucian's in prison. Turns out there's a 'boss' in there who was an inside man Felix planted years ago."

"As for Alistair Hart..." Damien paused before continuing, "He has rheumatism. I already had Felix sue him for libel. He should still be at the police station right now."

"And I've already had someone leak the story about Alistair and Katherine's past, as well as the fact that Lilian is the real illegitimate daughter, to the media."

Grace finally smiled.

It was a strained smile, but the darkness in her eyes had lifted considerably.

"Damien, you're terrible."

"Of course. How else am I supposed to handle those monsters?" Damien lifted her from the water and wrapped her in a large bath towel. "Besides, I can be much worse."
