Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 357

In the private room of the coffee shop, the faint scent of jasmine tea filled the air.

When Grace pushed the door open, she saw a woman in an elegant dress sitting by the window.

The woman was well-preserved. Though she had fine lines at the corners of her eyes, she had a gentle and refined air, carrying herself with the grace of a high-society lady.

However, the moment the woman turned her head, Grace froze.

"Ms. Hart, please, sit." Katherine Holt saw the confusion in Grace's eyes but wasn't surprised. She simply smiled faintly and gestured for her to take a seat.

Grace sat down, her eyes still wary. "What is your relationship with Lilian?"

"No relationship."

Katherine Holt gracefully poured her a cup of tea. "If I had to say, I suppose I was... her mother Sabrina's rival? Or perhaps, predecessor?"

Grace frowned. "What do you mean?"

"I was a... lover of your father's, for a short time, a year after your mother passed away."

When Katherine Holt said the word "lover," there was no trace of shame on her face, but rather a kind of worldly mockery. "This was before Sabrina moved in. Alistair Hart claimed to be a widower. He lied to me."

She had long known about Mr. Hart's romantic entanglements.

But she never expected this woman to approach her directly.

"What do you want? If you're here to reminisce or plead for the Hart family, you can leave now," Grace said coldly.

"Plead?"

Katherine Holt chuckled softly, took a rusty tin box from her bag, and pushed it in front of Grace. "I wish he were dead. Why would I plead for him?"

Grace looked at the tin box.

It was very old, with a faded, old-fashioned cookie design printed on it. The paint was chipping at the edges.

"What is this?"

"Something that belonged to your mother."

Katherine Holt sighed, her expression growing complex. "Back then, when I found out Alistair was seeing two women at once and had even had a child with Sabrina long ago, I resolved to leave. But before I left, I stole this from the safe in his study."
