“Deal.”
Damien took Grace’s hand.
For a moment, their palms pressed together.
Grace’s hand was a little cool, but Damien’s was very warm.
The heat spread from her palm throughout her body. Grace instinctively tried to pull her hand back, but Damien gave it a firm squeeze before releasing it like a gentleman.
“I look forward to working with you, Grace.”
“Call me Ms. Hart.”
“Of course, Ms. Hart.”
Grace shot him a glare and turned to leave.
Watching her retreating figure—still limping slightly, but with her back held ramrod straight—the smile on Damien’s face gradually vanished, replaced by a cold, murderous aura.
He pressed the intercom, his voice as cold as ice. “Felix, send out the notice. The purge begins.”
“Anyone who sided with Julian, any backstabbers—I don’t care how connected they are—get rid of them all.”
“And… it’s time to close the net.”
“I want the Hart family to understand that messing with the woman I love comes with a bloody price.”

Ever since Grace joined the Clarke family’s R&D center, the atmosphere had been tense.
In their eyes, the CEO’s wife had always been the epitome of “delicate.”
But recently…
“Who calculated this data set?”
Grace slammed a report onto the conference table. “The error margin is over 0.05%. Are you people doing scientific research or charity work? This small error might just be a number in the lab, but in a clinical setting, it costs lives!”
The conference room fell silent.
A senior manager, feeling a bit defiant, said in a passive-aggressive tone, “Ms. Hart, this is already the industry standard. Besides, you just got here, so you might not understand the situation. If you’re this demanding, I’m afraid we won’t be able to keep up with the schedule.”
