Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 320

Grace grabbed Damien’s arm. “Damien… it hurts so much…”

“Not just the wound. My heart hurts, too.”

“What am I? What has my life been about?”

Damien pulled her into his arms, avoiding her injured shoulder, and held her head tightly.

“It’s about nothing now. It’s all in the past.”

“From now on, you have me.”

“And this time, it’ll be an open, unapologetic devotion, not secret protection. Grace, give me a chance to treat you right, out in the open. Please?”

A half-month later.

Grace was discharged from the hospital.

She didn’t go back to Verstein.

It wasn’t just because of Damien’s confession, but because she no longer wanted to run away.

The Harts, Ethan, Julian—they had turned her life upside down. Now, she wanted a front-row seat to watch them pay the price.

At the Clarke Corporation headquarters.

Damien sat in a leather chair, his face a little pale, but his eyes had regained their usual sharpness.

Sitting across from him was Grace.

She wore a smart white pantsuit. Though she still needed a cane for support when she walked, her aura was completely different.

“I’ve read the contract.”

Grace pushed a file back across the desk. “The terms are too generous. So generous it’s like a charity case. Mr. Clarke, this doesn’t make any business sense.”

Damien gave a helpless smile, twirling a pen in his hand. “You saved my life. What’s this small compensation? Just say the word, and the entire Clarke Corporation is yours.”

Grace didn’t take his hand immediately. Instead, she held up three fingers.

“I have three conditions.”

“First, this is strictly business. No personal involvement. In the company, you’re the boss, and I’m the technical consultant. There’s no other relationship between us.”

“Second, I have absolute authority over my team. No one can interfere, including you.”

“Third, when the project is finished and the Clarke Corporation is back on track, I can stay or leave as I please. You can’t stop me.”

Damien looked at her, a bitter taste in his mouth.

But just being by her side, just being able to see her every day—that was enough for now.

Even if it was just as friends, just as business partners.

He could be patient. He had all the time in the world to win her over.
