Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 10

Her statement ignited their fury.

“Lilian already showed the proof, and you’re still trying to deny it?”

“What’s the point of someone like you even being alive?”

“Apologize to Lilian right now!”

As if verbal abuse wasn't enough to vent their hatred, an egg suddenly flew from the crowd, smashing squarely on Grace’s head.

A brief silence was followed by a barrage of fruits and vegetables.

She was almost buried under the onslaught.

Runny egg yolk dripped down her face, and the stench of rot filled her nostrils.

Grace was a complete mess.

She tried to leave, but the impenetrable crowd blocked her every escape.

She had no choice but to endure it.

After what felt like an eternity, security guards finally arrived and dispersed the unwelcome crowd.

She dragged her heavy feet back into the house.

Cassian was sitting on the sofa, his tone cold. “Either you stay home and wait for this to blow over, or you move out. I don’t want a repeat of what happened today.”

He walked up to her, looking down at her. “Don’t drag us into the mess you’ve made.”

Grace looked at Cassian, and her already numb heart began to ache with a thousand tiny pains.

What had she done wrong?

When she was working tirelessly to help them, they never told her not to involve them.

In the end, she received no gratitude, only hatred and blame.

She must have been blind to ever see these people as the most important thing in her life.

But she couldn't blame anyone else. After all, she had personally handed them the knives they were now stabbing her with.
