Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 2555

Outside the hotel, Eugene caught up to Sylvia. “So, you finally couldn’t resist letting your wild side show?”

Sylvia strolled along at an easy pace. “I’m the type who stands up for my friends. I can handle insults to myself, but if someone hurts the people I care about, that’s where I draw the line.”

Eugene laughed. “Then I guess that beating I took was well worth it. Honestly, watching you step in like that was more satisfying than anything.”

“How’s your injury?” Sylvia asked.

“It’s nothing, really. Don’t they say you have to learn how to take a hit before you can throw one? I guess I just got some early practice.”

Sylvia rolled her eyes. “If it hurts, just say so. No need to joke about it.”

Eugene dropped the playful act. “I’m honestly sorry. Mr. Farley always seemed like a good guy, and that Jolin—I've met her a couple of times—always came off as bubbly and sweet. Never imagined they’d be like this behind closed doors.”

Sylvia headed toward the parking lot. “It’s fine. I’ve been through things like this before. I didn’t really lose anything, and I got to blow off some steam.”

Meanwhile, the Farley family’s big celebration had turned into a complete farce.

Eugene, feeling bad for her, hurried after and gently grabbed her arm. “Don’t talk like that. Next time, you don’t have to hold back. If anyone makes you unhappy, just hit back—like you did tonight.”

Sylvia glanced at him. “Do you think what happened tonight will affect your family’s relationship with the Farleys?”

Eugene let out a cold, dismissive laugh. “With people like that, who needs a relationship?”

Sylvia didn’t reply.

Changing the subject, Eugene said, “I’m still hungry. How about you?”

Sylvia smiled lightly. “Same here.”

Eugene thought for a moment. “I know a place. Let me take you somewhere you’ve probably never tried before.”
