Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 2540

Amy stared at the photo—there was Harry, arm slung around a heavily made-up brunette, leading her into a hotel. The sting was like a slap, sharper and deeper than when Harry had actually hit her the day before.

No wonder he was always broke, always borrowing money online. It was all going to some other woman.

He’d even pushed her to ruin her own reputation, to beg and lie for cash, just to lavish it all on this cheap hostess.

Tears streamed down Amy’s face as she collapsed onto the couch, wailing in misery.

Milanda rolled her eyes. “Why are you even crying over this jerk? He hit you yesterday, and by midnight he was out chasing another woman. You’re in pieces, and he’s out there having the time of his life.”

Amy’s voice was choked with sobs. “When I was discharged from the hospital yesterday, I didn’t want to make things hard for him. I didn’t even ask him to pay the medical bills—I just transferred the money to him myself. I tried so hard to be good to him, and this is how he treats me. What does that hostess have that I don’t?”

“What hospital bills?” Sylvia asked, frowning.

Milanda snorted. “Yeah, why would you need him to pay? The boss already covered your medical bills—paid several days in advance, in fact.”

Amy froze, tear-streaked and wide-eyed, her mind struggling to catch up. After a long pause, she finally said, “He told me the boss didn’t pay, that he covered everything—over a thousand dollars. So I just wired the money to him.”

For a moment, the whole room was silent.

Milanda jabbed a finger at Amy. “Now I finally get why Harry keeps playing you for a fool—it’s because you really are that gullible!”

Amy only sobbed harder.

Sylvia sighed. “At least now the truth’s out. You can cut your losses—better late than never.”

“I swear, I’ll never be with him again,” Amy managed between sobs. “But he keeps calling, threatening me. What am I supposed to do?”

Milanda’s laugh was cold. “He’s not hung up on you—he just thinks you’re easy money.”

Amy’s voice trembled with regret. “I was so stupid. I can’t believe it took me this long to see it.”
