“That’s true,” Stephen said. “It doesn’t matter what kind of man he is, as long as he’s good to you and cares about you, Lillian. Nothing else is important, hehe.”
Stephen’s chuckle was a sign of his general satisfaction with Leonard Prescott.
Although he looked a bit frail, his presence wasn’t weak at all.
That at least suggested he was a capable person in his own right.
His own sister, of course, deserved someone truly exceptional.
His poor health might even have its advantages. At least he wouldn’t be fooling around like Sebastian Blake.
Good enough!
From what he’d seen, Lillian was the one who went to work at the company while Leonard usually stayed home.
A man handling domestic affairs wasn’t a bad thing.
Besides, the Lancaster family wasn't short on money. Keeping a handsome man like that at home was fine, as long as it gave his sister peace of mind.
As they approached, Leonard politely took a couple of steps forward to greet them.
Stephen quickened his pace to meet him.
“It’s good to finally meet you, Leonard.”
Stephen had a hearty and straightforward personality, something Leonard had been told about in advance.
Still, being called “future brother-in-law” right off the bat was surprisingly pleasing to him.
Leonard offered Lillian a quick, almost boyish glance, a rare moment of vulnerability flickering in his eyes.
Lillian wasn’t coy. “Leonard.”
“Right,” Stephen said. “I’m Stephen, by the way. No need for formalities—just call me Stephen. I’ve dropped by a few times but this is the first time we’ve actually met. We should see each other more often from now on.”
“There’s no need to be so formal, Stephen,” Leonard replied.
