Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 640

Stephen had actually forgotten that there were two other patients in Lillian's home.

Now that Mr. Peregrine was staying there, it made the most sense for him to care for all of them.

If he could cure Eleanor Lancaster, it would be a major credit to him in the eyes of the Lancaster family.

This was perfect, as Stephen hadn't figured out how to explain to everyone in the family why Mr. Peregrine hadn't returned after coming to treat Lillian.

Now, he had a perfectly legitimate excuse to placate them.

It was so reasonable that no one could argue, and in fact, everyone would be supportive!

Stephen quickly informed the Lancaster family of the situation, and naturally, he received a great deal of support.

Meanwhile, Lillian arrived at the company at ten o'clock to start her workday. Everyone was a bit surprised, as this was the first time she had ever been late since founding the company.

It was something that had never happened before.

However, Emma knew what was going on, as Ethan had told her earlier.

When Lillian arrived at her office at ten, Emma came in to give her a work report.

There was nothing particularly noteworthy on the work front. Celia Bennett's projects were all proceeding smoothly.

Emma also took the opportunity to report on Celia Bennett's recent personal life.

"Miss Bennett has been going back to her apartment after work recently, and she seems much more spirited. Last weekend, I invited her to go shopping, and following your instructions, Ms. Mercer, I helped her pick out a few suitable outfits.

This week, she's started wearing more than just her work uniform, and her whole demeanor seems to have changed."

Lillian was pleased to hear this. "Clothes make the woman. It's a waste for someone in the prime of her life not to dress up at all.

These recent changes are all for the better. Tell her to live bravely for herself, and that nothing else matters.
