Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 637

Instead… there was this ‘thoughtful’ reminder.

Leonard hadn’t heard what was said on the other end, only Lillian’s reply about Mr. Peregrine. He assumed his mother was still talking about the doctor, but then he saw Lillian’s face turn bright red.

Lillian was at a loss for words, stammering, “Um… we haven’t…”

Before she could finish, the ever-astute Leonard had already figured out what was going on. Without a second thought, he took the phone from her hand.

“Mom, we’re about to have breakfast. Isn’t Dad waiting for you? Don’t keep him waiting. That’s all for now, bye.”

Lillian hadn't even managed to finish her sentence!

Leonard glanced at Lillian’s flushed face and smiled. “Don’t listen to my mom’s nonsense. Let’s go eat.”

Leonard had a good guess what his mother had said, but he didn’t mention a word of it.

Lillian breathed a sigh of relief. She had already had a child, yet she was still surprisingly naive when it came to these things.

Back when she was with Sebastian, he never seemed particularly interested in that aspect of their marriage.

In their three years as a married couple, she could count the times on one hand.

Over time, Lillian started to feel that she wasn't very interested in it either.

It didn’t matter if it was absent. Three years passed like that, followed by two years in prison where it was a non-issue, and then her illness, during which such thoughts never even crossed her mind.

Now with Leonard, both of them seemed to be in poor health, and they hadn't made any progress in that department.

To have Mrs. Prescott suddenly bring it up so directly naturally made Lillian blush.

“Um… I think I forgot something in my room. You go downstairs first, I’ll go back and get it.”

With that, she quickly hurried back to her room, shut the door, and went straight to the bathroom. When she saw her reflection in the mirror, she was startled by her own appearance.
