Leonard immediately made an inviting gesture. "This way, please, sir."
The old man followed him.
Lillian understood. The old man's professional instincts were tingling.
Leonard's physical condition was likely a rare sight even in the medical world, which was why Mr. Peregrine reacted as if he'd discovered a treasure the moment he saw him.
The two sat down, and Old Mr. Peregrine kept marveling, "Incredible, truly incredible... For you to have lived for over twenty years longer than expected is a medical miracle, young man.
"I wonder, would you be willing to try an integrative approach that combines holistic and modern medicine?"
Leonard replied, "Of course, I'm willing. Once, my parents tried to persuade you to come out of seclusion, but to no avail. Now that I have this opportunity, why would I refuse?"
This old gentleman was someone that even money couldn't hire.
The Prescott family was certainly wealthy enough, yet they had tried several times to use all sorts of connections and still failed to bring him over.
It was the Lancaster family, being based in Midvale, that likely had generations of interactions and ties with the Peregrine family, allowing them to bring him to Northwyn to treat Lillian.
Leonard was benefiting from Lillian's connection.
If not for her, he would never have had the chance to meet the old master.
Old Mr. Peregrine nodded. "I was indeed busy in my younger years, engrossed in my research and often in seclusion.
"But now that I'm older, I feel I've made some modest achievements in my practice, so I dared to step out into the world again."
Lillian sipped her water off to the side, watching the two of them as if they were long-lost friends.
"I've already arranged a place for you to stay, sir. The third floor of the building behind the main villa houses an entire Western medical team, as well as several psychologists.
"I think you'll like it, Mr. Peregrine."
