That was something Martin would never allow.
Sabrina breathed a sigh of relief. This was exactly the outcome she wanted.
Since this was her plan all along, she certainly wouldn't blame Martin for not spending time with her.
"Martin, why do you have to push yourself so hard? They're your own sons. It wouldn't be a big deal to let them manage the company.
At your age, why make yourself so tired?"
Martin replied, "Honey, you don't understand. Most men in my position are still holding onto their roles. No matter how capable the children are, they still need us old folks to watch over them.
So, I have to go back and hold down the fort at the office.
Otherwise, who knows what will become of the company?"
Sabrina sighed. "I know, you always have your reasons. I'll reluctantly agree this time, but you have to remember, you promised to spend more time with me later.
Since you've said it, I'll be holding you to it."
Martin nodded. "Don't worry. When have I ever broken a promise to you?"
Sabrina smiled. "Also, there's no need to hire more people to take care of me. Not only can I manage on my own, but didn't you already have the household staff come over to help?
Besides, I want to recover in peace and quiet. Too many people around would just be a noisy disturbance."
Since Sabrina put it that way, Martin couldn't refuse.
"Alright, whatever you say."
That night, Martin left Sabrina at the hospital and returned to the office.
For the past two days, Brandon and Colin had practically been living at the company.
They were constantly monitoring information online, afraid of missing something that, if not handled in time, could lead to severe consequences.
