So what if Lillian was back?
She had still lost, completely.
When Bella returned to the hotel that night, the first thing she did was look for Debbie, but she wasn't there. Bella figured she had probably taken her young model out for the night.
Debbie slept in every morning and stayed out late every night. In a way, her life was much more comfortable than Bella's.
It was almost enviable. She wasn't short on cash, she had a male companion, and most importantly, she had a very wealthy best friend to back her up. Life was good.
Bella decided she needed to marry Sebastian as soon as possible and have a child of her own.
And for her to truly succeed, her child would have to usurp the inheritance meant for Lillian's son.
Wasn't Debbie living this comfortably today precisely because her son had successfully secured his position?
If Bella's own son couldn't do the same, if Lillian's son ended up getting the upper hand, all her efforts would have been for nothing.
The Blake Group had to end up in her hands. Only then would she have truly won.
As Bella walked back to her room, her mind was filled with these long-term calculations.
Debbie's current lifestyle was a clear blueprint for success laid out right before her.
The ultimate victory was getting her son into power.
Lillian's son was currently being groomed by the Blake elders, even sent abroad for a top-tier education fit for an heir.
He was sure to become a formidable man in the future. Then again, who knew when the Blake elders might pass away, leaving Lillian's son to fall back into her hands.
Bella didn't know how to raise a son well; after all, she’d never had one and lacked the experience.
But she knew exactly how to ruin a child.
