Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 194

Sebastian had been considering whether to stay in Valerion for a couple more days, perhaps find an opportunity to get married to Bella right there.

But when Bella mentioned the project, and how she needed to personally oversee it to feel at ease, Sebastian felt the same way. If they both needed to be there to feel secure, then they might as well go back.

Noah's treatment required a three-month waiting period, and anything could happen in that time. What if there was a mistake and the experiment failed? The only treatment plan left would be the original, most primitive one: he and Lillian having a second child.

Getting married to Bella right now, before his son's illness was confirmed to be curable, was indeed a bit risky. After they were married, Bella might not agree to him having a second child with Lillian if the experiment failed.

And if Lillian knew they were already divorced, she would be even less willing. So, after a moment of thought and weighing the options, Sebastian decided he needed to handle this matter calmly.

Due to his mistake, he and Lillian already had a divorce certificate, but the current situation was that no one knew about it. He would keep it a secret for as long as possible.

At least until Noah's condition stabilized and he was cured. This was the heir designated by his grandfather; there could be no accidents.

Sebastian nodded in agreement. "Alright, then let's book our tickets and head back tonight. It'll be tough on you, though, working around the clock without even time to adjust to the jet lag before you have to be back at the company."

"What's that? I studied in Valerion for a few years, so I'm already used to the time difference between here and home. Don't worry, Sebastian, I'm fine. I'm not tired at all. I was just so happy that you asked me to come with you to take Noah to the doctor, that you didn't treat me like an outsider."

Sebastian nodded. "Bella, thank you. Thank you for always taking such good care of Noah. It's because of you that the maternal love he's been missing these past two years has been filled."

Bella knew very well that if she hadn't established a strong enough presence in Noah's heart over the past two years, Sebastian might not have considered marrying her so quickly.

Although Sebastian spent very little time with his son, the child held a significant place in his heart. Sebastian took everything concerning Noah very seriously. That was why Bella made sure to spend enough time with Noah, despite her busy work schedule.

If it weren't for the time she spent with Noah, and the effort she put into their relationship, he wouldn't be so close to her now.

Thinking of the disappointed look on Lillian's face when she returned home from prison and saw how she and Noah interacted, Bella felt that all her efforts had been worthwhile. If Noah wasn't so dependent on her and so resistant to Lillian, that murderer, how could it have hurt Lillian so much?

Thinking back, Lillian had had everything from birth, while she had had nothing.
