“Perhaps,” Lillian said noncommittally.
When it came to men and relationships, Lillian currently had no plans at all.
Seeing her obvious lack of interest, Leonard changed the subject.
“There’s something I’ve been meaning to talk to you about. Ethan, go get the files from the medical lab.”
Ethan nodded and left immediately.
Hearing the words “medical lab,” Lillian looked at Leonard. “Does this have to do with you or me?”
“With you, and with your son.”
Ethan returned and handed her the file.
Lillian took it and began to read.
Leonard knew that no matter how heartbroken Lillian was, she still wanted to save her son.
But her physical condition didn't allow it.
She couldn't get pregnant, and she couldn't save her son.
As Lillian read, Leonard explained, “Many labs abroad have been conducting related research for a while now. My own medical team recently acquired some of their findings. If you want to save Noah, you could go to the lab with Sebastian. They might be able to extract what’s needed to help Noah from your combined DNA. While you’re there, I also want them to run a comprehensive genetic analysis on you. Lillian, your illness isn’t untreatable. There might be a way to cure it completely. You could even have children of your own one day. A child who will love you very much.”
Lillian flipped to the last page and looked up at Leonard, her eyes filled with an indescribable gratitude.
When the doctors had given her a death sentence, she had considered giving up.
But now, with this glimmer of hope, Lillian realized just how much she still wanted to live.
“I’ll go. Not just for Noah, but for myself.”
Lillian thought that perhaps it was more for herself than anyone else.
Leonard said, “Then I’ll have the lab make the arrangements. I assume Sebastian will cooperate unconditionally for Noah’s sake?”
