Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 239

Kelly noticed that her employer had been in a particularly good mood for the past few days.

How could she tell?

Because Emma, who usually ate just one bowl of food for dinner, had been eating two large bowls lately. Today, after finishing her second, she had even finished a bowl of soup with gusto.

Just as Emma was about to have another, Kelly finally had to intervene. “Ms. Hayes, Mr. Allen advises against overeating. It’s not good for your health.”

Basically, that was enough for tonight.

Emma's large appetite was starting to make Kelly a little nervous for some reason.

Seeing the flicker of concern on Kelly’s face, Emma couldn’t help but find it amusing. “It’s fine, it’s fine, don’t worry about me. I’m just in a good mood, so I’m eating a little more. It’s nothing!”

Despite her words, Emma obediently put down her bowl.

Seeing that she had finally relented, Kelly quickly handed her a plate of sliced fruit and cleared the table, as if afraid Emma would suddenly change her mind and decide to have another bowl of soup after all.

“Kelly, you’re too formal. You don’t have to call me Ms. Hayes. Just call me Emma.”

That sounded a bit too informal for a professional setting.

But Kelly didn’t say anything, just nodded calmly and replied, “Alright, Emma.”

Emma had the kind of personality that seemed a bit distant when you first met her, but became quite lively once you got to know her.

Seeing how serious and reserved Kelly was, Emma paused with a piece of apple halfway to her mouth before continuing as normal. “I have some good news for you, Kelly!”

“What is it, Emma?”

Kelly didn’t seem particularly interested in the good news, as she continued clearing the dishes without looking up.
