Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 159

At the mention of their grandmother, Emma's expression shifted slightly.

After a few seconds of silence, she asked in a hoarse, soft voice, "…Did Grandma used to talk about me a lot?"

Eric, carefree as ever, was already ahead of Emma with the suitcase, so he didn't notice his sister's change in demeanor. He just kept talking.

"Of course! You're my big sister, so Grandma definitely talked about you all the time! She didn't just say we looked alike, she said we even had the same habits! Every time Grandma looked at me, she'd say it was like she was seeing you."

As he spoke, they reached the second room on the second floor. Eric turned the knob and walked straight in.

"Sis, Dad put new sheets and a comforter on for you yesterday. Don't worry, it's totally clean!"

Emma followed Eric into what used to be her room. There was the small, pink wooden bed, the little white wardrobe, and the walls were covered with posters of celebrities who were famous at the time.

It seemed like nothing had changed.

"Does anyone stay in this room often?"

Emma looked at a corner where a pile of old magazines and weeklies she had read was stacked. Logically, they should have been covered in dust after so many years, but they were spotless.

"Nope! There are only a few of us in the house. Mom and Dad have kept this room for you all these years. Mom comes in to clean it every day, just like when you were still here."

Eric casually sat on the edge of the bed, still a bit out of breath from carrying the heavy suitcase up the stairs.
