Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 108

Evan was used to Emma's unpredictable behavior, so he didn't ask any questions and just drove in the direction she indicated.

"You barely ate any breakfast. There's some beef jerky under the passenger seat. You can have some if you're hungry," Evan said, keeping his eyes on the road.

As soon as he said it, Emma strangely turned to look at him.

Catching her movement in his peripheral vision, Evan turned his head as well, about to ask, "What's wrong?"

But the moment he turned to face her, Emma quickly looked away again. "I'm not hungry. I don't have much of an appetite," she said coolly.

Besides not liking to eat in bed, Evan also hated eating snacks in the car. He was a bit of a neat freak, and the smell of food in such a small, enclosed space made him uncomfortable, both mentally and physically.

So why the sudden change?

An image of the innocent-looking girl he'd met at the mall flashed through Emma's mind. Was it because of her?

Emma's lips curled into a sarcastic smile.

Just before they reached their destination, while waiting at a red light, Emma suddenly opened her purse, pulled out a stack of papers, and handed them to Evan.

He took them automatically, his brow furrowing as he read the first page.

It was a confirmation for a divorce filing appointment at the city courthouse. Both of their names were printed on it.

After a moment of silence, Evan asked, "What is this?"
