Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1181

The subordinate was startled by the coldness in the girl's eyes and instinctively looked toward Corvus.

"Step down."

Corvus raised his hand, his gaze landing on Juniper's face. He sneered, "Did you think saving Silas Blackwood and Theia Sommers meant you could just sit back and relax?"

Juniper stared at him lazily, ignoring his question.

"What made you think I'd listen to your advice and just let Silas Blackwood off the hook so easily?"

Corvus sat in his chair, exuding the majestic authority of a king in total control. "Specter, you underestimate me far too much."

"What do you mean?" Sensing something was wrong, Juniper glared at him fiercely.

"After studying medicine for so many years, surely I could invent some useful drugs." Corvus stood up, his tall frame casting a long shadow, chilling the air around them to ice. "If everything goes as planned, Silas Blackwood should be burning up with a high fever right about now."

"Without the antidote, he'll last two days at most."

"And I am the only one who has it."

"You bastard!"

Hearing this, Juniper shot up, trying to lunge at him.

But the iron bars of her cell blocked her way.

"Specter, if you want Silas Blackwood to live, you have to obey my every command."

Corvus took out a pill, placed it on the table, and tapped the surface with his fingertips, creating a sharp, crisp sound. "Whether he lives or dies is entirely up to you."

"Fine."

Juniper's lips twitched as she let out a cold laugh. "Just you wait, Corvus."

With that, she rolled up her sleeve, glared at the stunned doctor, and snapped, "Aren't you here to draw blood? Get over here!"

"Yes."

The doctor's mouth twitched. With trembling hands, he took out a needle and shakily drew two vials of blood.

Throughout the process, Juniper didn't even flinch.

"I'll leave the medicine at a designated location and send word for Silas Blackwood to come and get it."

Corvus stared with satisfaction at the two vials of bright red blood, a smirk playing on his lips. "From now on, Silas will need a dose of the antidote every two days."

"Aren't you Dr. Nocturne, the one who can crack the most difficult gene-modification problems?"

Corvus stepped closer, meeting Juniper's furious glare, and said unhurriedly, "Whenever you succeed in your research, that's when I'll give you all the antidotes."
