Right on cue, the video confirmed Mason's prediction. The car touched down on the surface of a wide river, but instead of sinking, it automatically engaged an aquatic navigation system.
Slade was absolutely floored. "It flies, it swims, and it tears up the road. This is literally every gearhead's ultimate wet dream."
Jasper smirked. "Did none of you catch the best part? It's completely solar-powered and self-charging."
At Jasper's reminder, astonishment rippled through the room again. No gas stations. No charging ports. Those two features alone solved massive logistical nightmares.
As the car drifted to a halt on the bank, the man asleep in the back finally woke up. Stepping out of the vehicle, he stretched luxuriously and waved at the camera.
Corbin gasped in disbelief. "My god, is that Murray?"
Every head snapped toward Maeve.
She offered a serene smile. "I forgot to mention, that wasn't pre-recorded. It was a live feed." She then tapped a button on her mic. "Mission accomplished, Murray. Head back."
On the screen, Murray flashed an 'OK' sign before the feed went dark.
Murray was one of Andres's most trusted confidants. The fact that he was the one physically testing the car proved its safety was beyond question.
With the presentation over, Maeve turned back to the executives.
"The entire vehicle is coated in invisible solar panels, providing virtually limitless energy."
"The windshield and tires are military-grade bulletproof material."
