Less than five minutes after she left, Assistant Leary stormed into Renfield's office in a frenzy.
The moment he walked in, he demanded, "Where is she?"
Maeve had no idea that her lack of interest in signing with the Grovers had caused Leary to throw a massive fit at Renfield.
Aside from two mandatory classes, she spent the entire day holed up in the lab running experiments.
By the time she left the campus, it was nearly dark.
Passing by a secluded spot, she caught a glimpse of a few girls sneaking around a tent, clearly up to no good.
A tent on campus?
That was certainly something new.
Kids these days really knew how to enjoy life.
Maeve hadn't planned on paying attention to such a trivial thing.
That was until she saw the girls emptying their water bottles directly into the tent, sparking a flicker of curiosity.
Hiding in the shadows, she watched to see what they were doing.
As bottle after bottle of water was poured inside, a girl's scream echoed from the tent.
"Don't go too far!"
The girls pouring the water burst into laughter.
Before they could get caught, they grabbed their bottles and scattered.
A girl, completely soaked, struggled to crawl out of the tent.
Her hair was drenched, her clothes were clinging to her, and the blankets and textbooks inside the tent were completely ruined.
Maeve finally got a clear look at her face.
"Daisy Duke?"
The miserable-looking Daisy spotted Maeve as well.
She frantically grabbed a towel and started wiping away the water.
Thank God it wasn't boiling water, or her face would have been permanently disfigured.
Faced with Maeve's confusion, Daisy managed an awkward smile.
"Sorry, you had to see me make a fool of myself again."
Maeve circled the front of the tent.
