Maeve looked at him with innocent disbelief.
"Waste my energy on a guy like that? He wishes."
"I just got struck by lightning yesterday. I have zero desire to go through that again anytime soon."
Even though the physical marks were gone, the agonizing shock of a lightning strike wasn't something anyone could easily endure.
Hans was puzzled.
"Is Nolan really just having a run of bad luck then?"
Maeve nodded.
"Exactly. Didn't I just say it? He hooked up with a woman whose destiny is cursed with misfortune last night."
"When I was reading his aura earlier, I could tell the idiot was originally destined for immense wealth and success."
"But the moment that toxic woman entered his life, his entire trajectory shifted."
Maeve held up three fingers.
"Just watch. Within three months, he's going to face a massive catastrophe. I saw the literal shadow of death lingering over him."
Andres cleared his throat softly.
"If my guess is right, this 'toxic woman' you're talking about must be Nevaeh Mendoza."
Maeve raised an eyebrow, her interest piqued.
"Nevaeh is here too?"
Andres replied, "She was brought in as Benjamin Bright's plus-one."
Maeve casually counted on her fingers, muttering under her breath.
"I have a feeling today is going to be very entertaining."
Just as the words left her mouth, a commotion erupted a short distance away.
In the southeast corner of the International Clubhouse's fifteenth floor sat a highly upscale cafe.
That was exactly where the chaos was unfolding.
Andres shot a glance at Murray, signaling him to check it out.
Murray jogged over and quickly returned.
"Boss, someone passed out. It's Leonardo Salazar."
