Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 380

No one had heard rules like that before.

Five hundred dollars to these people was basically the cost of breakfast—losing it barely registered.

Turning a party game into charity donations… only Maeve would come up with something like that.

Carson leaned forward, making sure he had it straight. "So if I'm the host and you're the challenger…"

"We roll dice, and if my number is higher, I win and I can ask you anything?"

"And if I win twenty rounds straight, I can make one demand of anyone here?"

"But if I lose twenty in a row, I take the final punishment?"

Maeve nodded. "Exactly."

Nevaeh scoffed. "So it's basically Truth or Dare. Not exactly original."

"Original isn't the point," Maeve said. "The point is, everyone playing ends up doing charity."

She tipped her chin toward the donation code. "And every time someone refuses to answer a question, that's another five hundred donated."

"Refuse often enough," Maeve added, "and it won't be a small number anymore."

She rummaged in her purse and pulled out a small cylinder, about the size of her palm. In front of everyone, she pressed the power button.

A crisp childlike voice chirped to life: "I am the Lie Detector, Unit 009. Codename: Imp."

Corbin leaned in, entertained. "What is that weird thing?"

Maeve said, "An AI lie detector, so nobody cheats."

Nevaeh eyed it skeptically. "And you think that little toy can actually detect lies?"

Maeve turned to Nevaeh. "Do you hate me?"

Nevaeh cleared her throat. "Of course not."

Maeve took Nevaeh's hand and placed it on the device.

She asked again, calm and deliberate. "Do you hate me?"
