Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen novel Chapter 381

Eileen stared coldly at her mentor.

She hadn't lifted a finger earlier, but that didn't mean she was happy about this guy showing up out of nowhere like that!

The man standing on the balcony chuckled softly. His face, already marked by a trickle of blood, had a thin layer of skin peeling away near the wound.

Realizing this, he pressed his hand against the injury, wincing. "Do you have any idea how expensive it is to make a face like this?"

Eileen blurted out, "How much?"

Egbert glanced at her, raising an eyebrow.

Eileen felt a little sheepish, muttering, "I was just curious..."

The man laughed again. "Ten thousand bucks."

Eileen was taken aback. "Why's yours so expensive? Mine only costs five hundred!"

The man was stunned. "Why's yours so cheap? Is it low quality?"

Eileen retorted, "Who says? It lasts a whole month! I have suppliers, you know? I studied medicine, and I've got friends in the hospital who can get me the materials at cost."

The man was silent for a moment before asking, "Mind sharing a contact?"

Eileen shook her head firmly. "No way, my supply chain is confidential business information..."

"Eileen!" Egbert suddenly raised his voice, calling her by her full name.

Eileen immediately turned on her mentor, shouting, "What are you doing here?"

The man on the balcony resumed his nonchalant demeanor, leaning against the railing with a casual air. "Missed you, that's all."

Eileen quickly explained to Egbert, "I didn't miss him at all! He’s the one causing trouble, go after him!"

Just as she finished speaking, the atmosphere tensed, and the men sprang into action.

"Bang!"

"Thud!"

"Crash!"

Glass shattered, tables were overturned, the TV exploded, and even the water cooler was knocked over.

Amidst the chaos, Eileen found a moment to join the fray!

The scene turned into a narrow room battle, with Egbert and Eileen flanking the man in the mask, forcing him to retreat.

Due to the cramped space, the masked man struggled to fight back and protested, "You’re ganging up on me!"

Eileen sneered, "Panicking, are we?"

The man replied, "I’m not panicking; I’m about to be finished!"

As he spoke, Egbert's blade slashed towards his face again, but the man blocked it with his arm.

A drop of blood trickled from his wrist, but before it hit the ground, he caught it with his other hand.

He wasn’t leaving any DNA behind.

Then, he quickly retreated to the balcony and, with a swift motion, vaulted over the edge.

Eileen and Egbert’s eyes widened in disbelief.

This was the twenty-fifth floor!

They rushed to the balcony, peering over to see nothing but a serene stillness below, not a soul in sight.

They both glanced upwards!

Nothing there either!

Just moments before, the man had jumped, and now, he had vanished into thin air...

The silence was deafening.

Egbert and Eileen stayed on the balcony for a long time.

Finally, Egbert spoke with a tight-lipped seriousness, "He wasn't here for peace."

Eileen agreed.

This man had been marked by the military, yet he had the audacity to appear right here!

What was his objective?

Egbert sighed, offering, "I’ll cover it."

Eileen was beyond frustrated. "What a mess!"

Eileen had a midnight flight to catch.

After Egbert settled things at the front desk, he helped her with her luggage, taking her to the airport.

Only after watching her disappear through the gate did the cold-faced man pull out his phone.

He made a call, speaking in a low, steady voice, "Issue a global alert."

Military academy exams were divided into various specializations.

Eileen had previously applied to the Army Command Academy.

So this time, she applied again to the Capital Army Command Academy.

Applying to the Command Academy doesn't necessarily mean you'll end up becoming a commander.

Her father, Nathan Howard, graduated from the Command Academy, but he eventually became a solo operative.

In July, the sun was blazing down across the country.

When Eileen arrived at the test center, she found that a long line had already formed.

She quietly joined the end of the queue.

However, her presence seemed to add fuel to the already boisterous atmosphere!

"Is that Eileen? It really is!"

"So, she's actually applying to the military academy!"

"I'm tweeting this right now!"

"Look, she's glancing this way! Haha, let's see if she goes into the men's room or the women's room—that'll solve the mystery of whether she's a guy or a girl!"
