Those words hit Maja like a sharp knife, piercing her heart.

While Neil was comforting Cristina, he was getting ready to pat his daughter on the shoulder.

"Maja, it's not that I don't want to help you. You also know Tricia's physical condition, the doctor said... if she's not taken care of properly, she might only have ten more years."

Maja dodged him.

Cristina snorted, apparently thinking she hadn't hit hard enough.

Exiting the elevator, Maja's heart hurt more than her face.

Before she could finish, Maureen took her hand and led her into a room, asking the doctor to apply some medicine to her cheek.

With others around, Maja didn't feel comfortable saying anything more, only feeling more pressure.

Maureen didn't seem pleased with Maja's obedient demeanor.

Her personal doctor was unavailable to deliver her regular herbs today. She was going to have someone else deliver it, but since she was passing by this hospital, she decided to pick it up herself. She didn't expect to meet Ryan's girlfriend in such a sorry state.

Taking out her phone, she tried to call her son, but couldn't get through.

He was probably partying with his friends again.

She called Ian instead.

"Ian, have someone track Ryan's location, he's really crossed the line."
