Man, that feeling really sucked.

He lowered his head, and pinched her chin, forcing her to look up at him.

"Why are you crying?"

Maja kept her eyes closed, her teeth clenched, refusing to speak.

She seemed thinner than before, her cheeks more hollowed. She already had a small face, but at that point he could almost break her chin with a slight squeeze.

Ian suddenly let her go, puzzled by the sudden surge of sympathy.

He had always been slow in reacting to emotions, plus his past relationship with Carlene, he felt that was different from the feelings of being in love.

Was it anger? Or something else?

At least, he had never felt that way toward anyone else, his actions were usually more ruthless.

Maja could be stubborn at times, he would hurt her randomly, and she would just bear it silently.

That was what men hated most about women.

Once Ian was done, he lost interest.

Maja seemed like the living dead.

Ian felt annoyed and casually tossed her aside.

"Let's call it a night."

Maja was thrown onto the bed, her calves trembling.

She started dressing, not looking at Ian.

Ian grew more irritated. Remembering the bracelet, he felt Maja was truly ungrateful.

He took a deep breath and went straight to the bathroom to take a shower, ignoring Maja.

Maja dressed up and left.

It wasn't her first time staring at the elevator wall, each time she felt a bit melancholic, wondering how her life had turned out that way.

Ian came out from the shower and found Maja had left, unconsciously frowning. Then he saw a smear of red on the sheets.

His fingertips trembled as he picked up his phone to call Maja.

"Are you feeling unwell?"

Maja was indeed feeling unwell, a great pain in her stomach.

Ian immediately put on his robe, took the elevator downstairs, and saw her holding her stomach, sitting on the sofa in the lobby.

He rushed over, sweating all over.

That feeling was like that day in Crystalbrook Valley when he found out Maja went out in a sandstorm.

Approaching her, he picked her up and returned to the elevator.

Maja buried her head in the pillow, her face as red as blood.

That feeling was totally different from other experiences and more embarrassing.

She didn't say anything, Ian thought she was in unbearable pain, so he called the doctor to hurry up.

When the doctor arrived, he asked the same question and wanted to examine Maja's private area.

Ian pushed the doctor's hand away, his face grim, "What are you doing?"

The doctor looked embarrassed, sweating from his back.

"Well, I need to check it myself."

"I've already checked, it's an internal injury."

Seeing him protect her, the doctor immediately prescribed medication.

"There are topical and oral medications, also, you need to be careful not to be too intense during sex as women can get hurt because of it."

Ian suddenly remembered that he intentionally scared Maja tonight, opening that window, she was so scared she was trembling.

He regretted that.

"I understand."

After the doctor left, he picked up the topical ointment, ready to spread her legs again.
