"Die, you bastard!" Zeng Guoquan roared, flooding the treasure with her spiritual energy the instant she drew it, and the treasure began to glow ominously.
“Did you really think I'd let you use it?" Yuan sneered, using the Heaven Sealing Technique on her. In a heartbeat, Zeng Guoquan's cultivation was sealed, cutting off the flow of spiritual energy and with it, any hope of activating the treasure.
Yuan then plucked the treasure from her grasp and examined it with mild interest. It resembled a wand, yet was forged entirely from some unknown crystal, its core brimming with an immense, destructive energy.
The energy within was so immense that, had Zeng Guoquan managed to activate it, the resulting devastation could have reshaped the very landscape of the Abyssal Underworld.
“What a dangerous item you have here. Where'd you get something like this?" Yuan asked her, as he'd never seen anything like it before.
“I'l tell you if you let me live," she quickly replied.
"Sure. I won't touch you if you tell me." Yuan nodded.
“Swear on your soul!" she demanded.
“If you do the same."
With no choice but to obey, Zeng Guoquan began swearing on her soul with clenched fists, “I swear on my soul that I will tell you where I acquired the Rod of Destruction—the treasure in your hands if you let me live."
Yuan then swore, "I swear on my soul that I won't touch you if you tell me everything you know about this treasure."
Once they had both completed their oaths, Zeng Guoguan began divulging everything she knew about the Rod of Destruction.
“The Rod of Destruction is an artificial treasure forged by the Nameless Society—a cabal of madmen united by a single goal: to create a weapon capable of unleashing the greatest destruction imaginable. I acquired it through a friend who had close connections with them. That's all I know."
“The Nameless Society, huh?" Yuan mumbled.
“Who's your friend?"
“You already met him. He's the one who brought you to me."
I see
“I've told you everything I know, so I'll be taking my leave now."
Without waiting for Yuan's reply, Zeng Guoquan wrenched the spear from her body, causing her blood to flow like a waterfall.
"Wait."
Just as she began flying away, Yuan stopped her.
"Are you going to break your oath? The heavens will destroy your soul if you do!" she shouted with a deep frown on her face.
"No, I won't do anything to you."
“But I will."
In the blink of an eye, hundreds of ants lay dead. Yet Yuan felt no satisfaction. Because at this rate, completing his quest of a hundred million kills would still take an eternity. Unfortunately, less than two months remained before he was due to depart for the Undying Fiery Summit.
As he continued cutting down hundreds of ants every few minutes, Yuan pondered a faster method to hasten the slaughter.
Suddenly, an idea surfaced in his mind—one that could drastically accelerate his grind, yet was both dangerously risky and downright devious.
"Feng Feng, Yu Ning, Yingying. Hear me out."
Yuan then laid out his idea to them, seeking their thoughts.
“Young Master... that's insane—but brilliant at the same time," Feng Yuxiang said.
“It might not affect you, but it will definitely impact everyone else," Yu Ning added.
“It sounds good in theory, but it could easily go out of control, and innocent people could die as a result." Lan Yingying said in a worried tone.
“I'll make sure to seal off this entire area before I do it, so there won't be any innocent casualties," said Yuan.
After discussing the plan in detail and refining it to ensure nothing spiraled out of control, Yuan readied himself to set it into motion.
First, he moved through the surrounding area, sealing every tunnel leading out of the Abyssal Crystal Ants' territory with formations through Yu Ning's help, effectively trapping them in one place. However, the territory was so vast that it took Yuan nearly an entire month to complete the task.
Once he was certain that there was no place for them to escape, Yuan retrieved the Baneful Abyss and approached the nearest ant.
