Amelia and Jeremy weren’t like Josie and the others, who loved gazing at the stars and moon.

Sure, the sky here was stunning-full of stars, like it was covered in a mysterious veil.

But that feeling of awe only lasted for a moment.

Instead of staring at stars, they preferred walking around and exploring.

So they quietly slipped away, fingers linked, heading off to enjoy the night somewhere else.

That said, the countryside didn’t offer much to see after dark. Instead, they heard all kinds of insects and the calls of unknown animals.

“D-Don’t go too far from me,” Amelia said, gripping his hand tightly. “It’s kinda scary out here at night.”

Jeremy, of course, loved how close she was holding onto him.

Especially when she jumped toward him every time she heard a strange sound-it was just too

cute.

“What are you laughing at?” Amelia shot him a side-eye..

She could tell this annoying guy was up to something again.

As they walked, they noticed tiny flickers of light glowing nearby. Amelia’s happily walked over.

“Fireflies! I didn’t expect to see them here.”

She stepped into the grass, watching the little lights float around, her mood lifting right away.

“This place is far from the city, and the grass is pretty damp. Fireflies like spots like this,” Jeremy explained.

He didn’t seem particularly surprised or excited.

But since she liked it, he liked it as well.

“When I was with my mentor on that deserted island, working in the lab, there were tons of fireflies,” Amelia said as she moved closer to the grass. She looked for good angles to film them while sharing her memories with him.

“There were way more than here, like a silver river of light. It was really beautiful.

“It felt so close to nature. I kinda miss those days.”

Standing behind her, Jeremy listened carefully while secretly taking photos of her.

She was busy filming fireflies. He was busy filming her.

She was the only thing in his eyes and his heart.

“What are you doing?”

Amelia turned and caught him mid-shot.

“You’re filming fireflies. I’m filming you. We’re both busy.”

Jeremy wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed her forehead.

“Sneaky,” she muttered, shooting him a look.

He couldn’t resist and leaned down again, gently kissing the corner of her like stars.

No matter how much he looked at her, it was never enough.

“What are you doing?” Amelia asked shyly.

Even though they were already close and had been together for a while, his affectionate gaze still made her blush.

“Let’s head back. It’ll get colder if we stay out longer.”

Jeremy held her hand as they walked back toward the campsite.

He walked her to her tent, carefully fixed the bedding inside, and only then felt relaxed enough

to return to his tent.

He wished he could sleep in the same tent with her. But since they were outdoors, he held himself back,

If he dared crawl in, she’d definitely kick him out.

“So thoughtful,” Amelia murmured as she lay down inside her tent.

Jeremy had nearly tucked her in and stood guard until she fell asleep.
