Crowned by the Man They Feared (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 557

Chapter 557 A Shattered Mirror

Amelia lifted her gaze and swept it across everyone present, her eyes calm yet carrying an undeniable authority.

“What just happened-I hope that’s the last time. Nygard Group doesn’t keep dead weight, and it certainly doesn’t keep backstabbers or gossipmongers.”

She paused, her tone turning cold. “If anyone still can’t figure out where they stand, you might be the next one thrown out.”

The moment her words landed, the conference room fell dead silent, and everyone kept their heads down, afraid to meet her eyes.

Those who had been whispering moments ago, hoping to watch Amelia make a fool of herself, were now frozen stiff, cold sweat breaking out on their backs.

Amelia paid no more attention to their reactions and turned to Tracy. “Send out a notice. Starting today, the security department will tighten access control. Non-employees and visitors without appointments are not allowed entry under any circumstances.

“Pay special attention to those two from earlier, as well as anyone who’s had close contact with them. They need to be thoroughly screened.”

“Yes, Ms. Nygard.” Tracy responded immediately and quickly jotted everything down.

By now, everyone had changed how they addressed Amelia.

Amelia knew those two women wouldn’t just let this go, so it seemed she would have to root them out completely to eliminate any future trouble.

After temporarily wrapping up company matters, she walked toward her office, her mind still turning over the situation.

When she returned to her office, she found several people standing inside, all lined up together.

Amelia’s temple throbbed involuntarily.

“Amelia, you must be exhausted. There’s been so much going on at Nygard Group lately. You’ve worked so hard.”

The one who spoke first was Emery.

Behind her stood her three useless sons, looking like they wanted to say something but didn’t dare.

So she, as their mother, had to take the lead.

She could understand why they didn’t know what to say. Honestly, she was nervous too.

She was so worried her daughter would kick them all out of the office without a second word.

“Mm, it’s fine.”

Amelia looked at her, also unsure of what to say.

After thinking for a moment, she added, “About the shares-once I’ve finished handling everything, I’ll transfer your portions back to you.”

She didn’t want to owe them anything.

Even though it was all for Nygard Group, she could have removed Regina and her daughter from the company without using their shares.

It was just that this method was faster and more convenient, and it allowed her to humiliate that mother-daughter duo on the spot.

That was the only reason Amelia hadn’t refused at the time.

“No need! What we gave you is yours. There’s no need to transfer it back.” Marcelo was the first to respond anxiously.

“Yeah, yeah, exactly. We’re not short on-no, wait, it’s not that we don’t need it, so we’re giving it to you. We just wanted to help out.”

“That’s right. We’re family. When brothers give their sister something, why would she need to return it? We feel much better with you managing the company.”

Maxwell and Miguel chimed in hastily, afraid their sister might misunderstand their intentions.

Emery watched her sons finally come to their senses and learn to treat their real sister well. She was relieved at last.

She still hadn’t fully emerged from the grief of losing her husband. Every day felt like she was just going through the motions.

But now, she realized she couldn’t keep living like this anymore.

She still had her children to watch over, even if they no longer needed her.

She still hoped to help in whatever small way she could.

Especially when it came to making sure those horrible people couldn’t walk all over them.

So today, she forced herself to appear strong, determined not to be humiliated in front of their

enemies.

Amelia didn’t know how to respond after hearing all this.
