Chapter 478 Trust, Without Question

In the past, Floyd might have believed her, or maybe she had no choice but to go along with it.
But now, he had met someone who made him feel safe and truly trusted. So this time, he wouldn’t be holding anything back.
“Just trust me,” she said gently, patting the little boy on the head.
The people who lied to Floyd were only taking advantage of the fact that he was young and didn’t fully understand things yet. They were bullying someone weaker than themselves.
Most likely, they didn’t want his eye color to return to normal. They wanted others to look at him like he was strange, like he didn’t belong.
They wanted him to be laughed at, avoided, and pushed away. That way, the pressure on his mind would continue to grow.
In the end, they hoped he would stay locked inside his own world forever. Silent. Isolated. Impossible for anyone to reach.
Unfortunately for them, they had run into Amelia. And that meant their plan was doomed to fail.
After that, Whitney went upstairs to change her clothes. Then Jeremy personally got behind the wheel and drove them out.
“Hey, Floyd and I will sit in the back,” Whitney said cheerfully. “My silly son’s front passenger seat obviously belongs to Amelia.”
The meaning behind her words was clear. She was almost openly confirming those two were in a relationship.
Jeremy noticed that Amelia didn’t seem uncomfortable. She didn’t deny it, and she didn’t object either. His heart bloomed with joy.
Just work a little harder and I’ll finally be her boyfriend.
The four of them happily arrived at the local farmers’ market Whitney had visited before.
The market was a bit far from their upscale neighborhood. The environment was simple, and the place wasn’t very big.
But the vendors-mostly elderly-were warm and friendly.
When neighbors gathered, they chatted nonstop, from stories about the 1970s to kids born after 2010.
A market full of human warmth and juicy gossip like this was exactly why Whitney liked it.
Even though this was only her second visit, she had already decided this was the place.
Most importantly, she wanted to bring her precious future daughter-in-law here. She wanted everyone to see it for themselves. Her son wasn’t going to end up single and child-free.

“Oh my, it’s been ages since you came to buy groceries! You bring your son and your whole family here this time?”
“Wow! What a good-looking family! I thought some big movie stars had come to shoot a film!”
“Hey, you’re dreaming,” another woman laughed. “Stars wouldn’t come to a small market like ours. If they did, it’d be the big supermarkets!”
After Whitney chatted with the local vendors last time, everyone remembered her clearly.
She was beautiful and elegant, and that day she almost bought out half the market’s meat, vegetables, and seafood in one go.
It was hard not to.
So the moment the “big spender” appeared again, the vendors selling premium seafood and specialty meats nearly broke into a sprint.
They rushed over like they were running a hundred-yard dash.
“Ma’am, you came at the perfect time today! Everything here is top quality-fresh, tender, and full of flavor!”
“Take a look at my lobsters! I promise you’ll come back for more!”
Amelia was nearly startled by the enthusiasm.
These people were way too energetic.
“Amelia, what do you feel like eating?” Jeremy asked gently.
“Hmm, anything is fine,” Amelia said after thinking for a moment. “Seafood or chicken, either works.”
She wasn’t picky. Besides, people usually ate things like chicken, beef, or pork anyway, so she truly didn’t
mind.
Hearing that, Jeremy waved his hand boldly and said, “I’ll take all the chicken and all the seafood.”
OH MY GOD!
The seafood vendor and the chicken vendor nearly floated off the ground from happiness.
They immediately started packing everything. “No problem, no problem! Where do you live? I’ll deliver it straight to your door!”
“Hey-are you playing the role of a big tycoon in the movie or something?” Amelia blurted out. “You don’t need to buy this much!”
She was genuinely shocked. Had this man not snapped out of his role yet? Did he think he was still on set?
