Crowned by the Man They Feared (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 467

Chapter 467 The Mark That Shouldn’t Exist

Finished

Amelia had tried so hard before, and nothing worked. Now, without trying at all, something appeared.

A strange symbol slowly showed up on the bottom of the child’s foot.

It looked very similar to the mark on Regina’s body, but not exactly the same.

Still, there was no doubt about it. This was their work.

“Gotcha,” Amelia said under her breath.

At last, her suspicion was confirmed.

To avoid alerting those people, she quickly took out another medicated spray and covered the mark again. The symbol faded from sight.

Once she was sure of Floyd’s condition, her expression turned serious.

She knew the force behind this wasn’t simple. They didn’t even spare a child this young.

How ambitious were these people? How outrageous were they?

Jeremy looked at her tense face and gently patted her shoulder. “Don’t worry too much. Now that we’ve found a clue, we can follow it and track them down.

“I’ll also have my people investigate in secret, okay?”

Amelia nodded. For now, she let the topic drop.

She looked at the sweet child in front of her. Thinking about what he had already gone through at such a young age made her heart ache.

“Floyd,” she said softly, “how about I come over more often to play with you? If you want, you can come to my place too.”

The moment she said that, Floyd’s bright eyes lit up like stars.

He nodded again and again without hesitation.

Of course he was happy. Being with Amelia always made him feel safe.

Life at home felt heavy and stressful to him. If she was willing to come keep him company or let him visit her, of course he would be glad.

“Come to my place,” Jeremy said smoothly. “On weekends, I’ll have someone pick you up. Ms. Pretty usually stays with me on weekends anyway.”

He knew exactly what she was trying to do.

She wanted the child to get out more so those people won’t dare to target him so easily again.

It would also give her more chances to treat and adjust his body.

Of course, Jeremy wasn’t about to miss such a perfect chance.

If the kid stayed at his place, Amelia would naturally come over more often too.

“Okay!” The child happily signed with his hands.

As long as he could be with both of them, it didn’t matter whose house it was.

Even though he was young, he was sensitive and observant.

He could tell Amelia liked Jeremy.

Since she liked him, Floyd liked him too.

That made it easy for him to accept going to Jeremy’s place.

Amelia, however, didn’t have nearly as many hidden thoughts as that shameless man. She didn’t think much about it.

All she wanted was to help Floyd open up and stop shutting himself off.

She wasn’t a therapist, and counseling wasn’t her strength.

But since he liked her so much, maybe spending more time playing with him would help.

As for his physical condition, that part was easy for her.

They got along well in the room. Jeremy even started a Rubik’s Cube challenge with the little boy, followed by a few rounds of chess.

From time to time, laughter filled the room. The three of them, all good-looking in their own way, looked like a warm picture of a small family of three.

Before Amelia and Jeremy left, they shared their earlier proposal with Cora and Nydia. The two of them smiled so hard.

They had no objections at all and thanked them repeatedly.

It was rare for the child to be willing to go out, play more, or even visit someone else’s home. That alone counted as social interaction.

In the past, no matter how hard they tried to take him out, he always refused.

He often refused to have his meals with the family.

Now that there was such a change, it was clearly a good start.

Cora and Nydia wanted them to stay for dinner, but they politely declined.
